Samadhi was written in 1988 after experiencing a session in an isolation tank (published by Biocybernetic).
Initiation Ritual (first Version of Initiation Ceremony/BAKTUN) and Erotica Exotica complete this work.

Sankt Otten - Wunden gibt es immer wieder

Artist: Sankt Otten
P: 2008
From the opening track of 'Wunden gibt es immer wieder' Sankt Otten make their intentions known. Stephan Otten..s echoing rhodes piano falls over golden drones as Oliver Klemm drapes his elegant trademark guitar through the track like a neon waterfall. The album represents a marked progression from the bands earlier output. It draws upon the heart of their previous forays into dark melancholic trip hop yet discards the form. In doing so the band have managed to present a musical vision that is even more epic, cinematic and noirish and distinctly their own.
Over its eleven instrumental tracks the album presents such an immensely crafted and expansive landscape. From the buzzing twilight halo of 'Taschensymphonie', the magisterial lament of the title track and the urgent, dramatic ambience of 'Der Groove des guten Gewissens' 'Wunden gibt es immer wieder' is a slow burning, intensely orchestrated piece of maximalist minimalism. The albums hypnotic melancholia is undeniable as it turns lost moments into cinematic anthems.. This is music made for film made for music and an album only Sankt Otten could make. 'Wunden gibt es immer wieder' is the follow up to the immensely successful and critically praised 'Wir koennen ja Freunde bleiben'.

Sayer - 1st Encounter

Artist: Sayer
P: 2003
The first album by Sayer is a rhythmic/ melodic extravaganza filled with colorful melodic hooks and crisp sequential riffs. There are cosmic symphonic moment interwoven into the mix, but by and large it’s a non-stop dose of motorik perfect for space cruising on the Autobahn. Your head will be spinning and your feet tapping when this is in the player.

Schönwälder - Eye Of The Chameleon

Artist: Schönwälder
P: 1989 / 1992

Originally recorded November 1988 - May 1989 at Orpheus Studio Berlin Composed, arranged and produced by Mario Schönwälder
Track 4 recorded live at the Berlin Planetary on 7th January 1989.
´The Eye Of The Chameleon´ is Mario Schönwälder´s 1st CD, released on Musique Intemporelle in 1989, re-released on Manikin Records in 1992.
In particular, the excellent title track is very typical late 1970s Schulze style. The bell-like sequences, the basses, the solos, and the overall atmosphere evidence this. It could be a track from “The Historic Edition”.

Schönwälder - Solotrip

Artist: Schönwälder
P: 1996
His debut CD .

A collection of new tracks from the late 80s and early 90s, combined with some pieces recorded this year. 'Trance-Mission-Fluid' combines some steady sequences and rhythms with a variety of motifs. Neat and tidy with good production, but rather bland. 'Journey Into Mystery' improves things though, sounding like unsequenced AirSculpture - and listen out for the bass drum! 'With Love from Us to You' was recorded in 1994 at Berlin Planetarium with fellow EMists Broekhuis & Keller. Some good moments, and I'm sure it went down well with the visuals.
Back to 1987 for 'Aus einier anderen Zeit', a floating/ freeform piece with some interesting effects and noises. The 16 minute title track explores more commercial territory, especially the second half which features an uptempoalmost ambientbeat and some excellent synth motifs.
'Thrust or Fiction' is a short but impressive atmospheric piece, while 'Sems ú kanar' contains some strong sequenced sections but does go on a bit.
'Zerstückelte Freiheit im Großformat' ends interestingly but is nothing extraordinary. And really this sums up the whole album.

Schönwälder feat. Harald Grosskopf - Hypnotic Beats

Artist: Mario Schönwälder feat. Harald Grosskopf
P: 1992
Soft cosmic pads and tinkling bell like percussion give 'Moogazyn' a very relaxed start. In the second minute a deep bass rhythm (that will test the speakers) starts up. It is relatively slow in pace but even so will get those ornaments shaking on the shelves. I could just hear a sequence starting to build low in the mix. Lead lines come and go but they are rather subtle, playing a supportive role to the rhythmic content. Some will find this track simply too repetitive but I found it, as the album title suggests, rather hypnotic but also powerful stuff.

Senor Coconut - Smoke on the Water

Uwe Schmidt (who goes by many monikers including "Atom" and "Atom Heart") is a German musician, composer, and producer known for peculiar dabblings in Latin, electro, and heavy metal, frequently blending multiple genres in a single recording. Here he takes on a hard rock classic, "Smoke on the Water," made famous by Deep Purple after watching a casino burn down during a Frank Zappa concert in Switzerland. This is an iconic song that is hard for anyone but Deep Purple (Mark II, with Ian Gillan and Ritchie Blackmore) to pull off.
By diverging totally from the stylistic trappings of the original, Señor Coconut manages a completely new take on the classic. It isn't at all derivative, but is amusing and lighthearted, and is much to my liking. The CD contains three different versions of the song, of which my clear favorite is the "Single Version" which is great and salsa-tinged. The other two versions are far more representative of Schmidt's electro-dance roots. The "King Britt Funke Mix" at over ten minutes is a bit excessive even for dedicated fans of the root material such as myself, while the "Sieg Über Die Sonne Remix" is a less unruly dance cover that's still weird, but modestly enjoyable.

Serge Blenner - Vision et Poesie

Artist: Serge Blenner
P: 1995
"Upbeat rhythms, sparkling melodies, and some characteristically grand chord patterns make "Vision et Poésie" yet another fine creation by Serge Blenner. While his French counterpart J-M Jarre has been bringing spectacle to the majority of Europe over the last few years, Blenner has been making an impact in subtler style. Evolving his hard to categorize sound with everything from orchestral samples to human voice, Blenner remains the more sonically adventurous of the two, despite remaining very accessible in style".

Servi - Meditatio in Variatione

Artist: Servi
P: 1995

MEDITATIO IN VARIATIONE is the  multimedia programme from SERVI’s musicians and composers Jan Bilk and Tomaš Nawka.
The Sorb musicians, natives of Lusatia, met at secondary school; since then, the two composers-cum-producers have been a particulary active duo in the world of Christian music. Performing as „Servi pacis“ and later as „SERVI“, they made their mark on the modern church music scene – not to mention that of electronic music – in the GDR.
Jan Bilk and Tomaš Nawka’s appearances at 370 churches have ranged from young people’s services and parish worship to straightforward concerts. They have performed in concert halls, theatres and sports venues across the country.
Complementary to these activities, they have composed and produced on a commercial basis for radio, cinema and television.
They have taught at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in East Berlin and other institutions. All in all, an impressive artistic achievement. Jan Bilk and Tomaš Nawka can now boast an international reputation as versatile, established artistes in their chosen field. Just look at successful projects like the eight-channel sound installation at the Berlin Zeiss-Groß-Planetarium’s first laser show, the Open Air Classics Concert with the Grand Radio Broadcasting Orchestra of Berlin, or other appearances using the Delta Stereophonic System. They have provided the music for about 70 films and radio plays and in 1988, were awarded the Special Prize for Radio in recognition of this outstanding work.
„…Yet again, a real emotional experience – SERVI on tour!
We are getting back to our roots, visiting places of worship to find peace and God’s strength through our music. Lost in thought, absorbés dans ses pensées…, we become conscious through meditation of new insights.“
The SERVI Multimedia Performance is a professional blend of meditative synthesizer and natural music, large-screen projections and a captivating light show. Aimed not only at Christians, it embraces allcomers in an out-of-the-ordinary experience: Come into the Cathedral, immerse yourself in the glories of this sacred building and discover the longing in your soul.
