Akwara, Andreas

Andreas Akwara was born 1965 in Kleve. He started playing Music in his School Band ("A.Cool Gang"), singing and composing. At the same time Andreas developed his Interest in Soundscapes and Electronic Music.
Later on, developing special Interest in Experimental/ Nuclear Physics and Astronomy, the emphasis of his music shifted from a Funk/ Jazz- mixture to a special form of ambient electronic music, which gives Akwara`s music a unique note, not comparable to any other composer.

The album tries to show that no matter how difficult the human situation, no matter whether as a result of government practises, terrorist attacks, or private decisions, the human mind may use music for attaining hope and joy.
This brings all cultures together, showing that no matter how different cultural heritages may be, music brings us ALL together.
"Synthetic Horizon" is an alternate track from my upcoming Album.
In SH I tried to convey a Soundtrack feeling mixed with chillout Portions. It has a sort of intended deep atmosphere to it which should invite to a sort of "sophisticated" music awareness. The wide spectrum of human hearable sound is explored with orchestral partitions which should give the music a majestic feel to it, conveying the images of a Synthetic Horizon.
"Ambush" uses the speech of US President G. Bush after the September the 11th attacks 2001 using an ambient background.
"Circle" contains samples of the mourning widow of Kurt Cobain the Nirvana Frontman.
"Nu Ages" contains indian voices.
"El Predinente" contains samples of Cuba and Fidel Castro
"Peace" has PENTAGON samples on ending the WAR in Vietnam.

Andreas Akwara - Blue Velvet

A grandiose mood is generated by lavish texturals seasoned by heavenly chorales and harpsichord punctuations. Bubbling diodes sweep through the gathering soundscape, heralding the emergence of melody from this brewing pool of harmonic definition. Coalescing into dramatic substance, keyboards guide the newborn melody into an ascension of resplendent glory. Electronic cycles unfurl, delineating compelling passages of mounting eloquence. Riffs sashay into prominence, expressing a delightful majesty, only to be supplanted by fresh threads which perpetuate the music’s uplifting direction. Clever variations generate a constant luster that captivates the listener.
E-perc plays a vital role in this tuneage. While maintaining a presence in equilibrium to the rest of the music, the rhythms provide locomotion for the electronics, injecting an urgency that dependably escalates into rewarding pinnacles of euphoric ecstasy. A regal demeanor marks these tempos. Despite their synthesized origin, they are skillfully generated to sound natural, resounding with emotional cadence and excellently fitting with the stratospheric qualities achieved by the electronics.
Numerous riffs are established, only to entwine with each other, transforming the gestalt into luscious structures of tenacious vitality. A sense of optimism is accomplished as these layers merge and evolve, communicating cooperation as a worthwhile ambition. Deeply resonant tones are employed to conjure an oracular motif. These electronics blossom with amiable authority, describing inspired melodies crafted with divine intentions.
These compositions exude a powerful aura of demonstrative nobility. The bewitching melodies involved in their essence delivers a staunch rank of sonic gratification.

Andreas Akwara - Klangbild

Music in the early Jarre style. Nice tunes, catchy melodies and common rhythms.
Actually matter is nothing more than vibration. Everything we see, or can not see, is an accumulation of vibrations. Tiny particles vibrate, thus creating an interaction which, in summary, makes up every atom, each molecule, everything we define as matter or energy. Thus the manifestation of all this vibration is what we can see or feel. This vibration can be in harmony or not. Being harmonic or not, being in resonance or destroying one another. The basis is however pure particle vibration, leading to energy that we can feel or see. On a four dimensional interstellar basis, we find here the secrets for understanding a coming unified field theory, merging quantum mechanics and the general theory of relativity. This is the mystery behind this album that I called Klangbild.  A.A.

Andreas Akwara - Occult Sanctum

Artist: Andreas Akwara
P: 2006
Haunting tonalities churn in the background, while more strident electronics establish a pulsating frontal presence that gradually slides into a melodic flow of piercing notes and rich chords. As the music progresses, soothing rhythms enter the mix along with bouncy sequencing that gets things tastily moving. The introduction of choral voices lends a cathedral touch to the tune. A passage of saxophone contributes a striking diversion, giving way to cascading water drenching the choir.
The third movement introduces chirping diodes to the heavenly melody. Remote strings are ponderously strummed, creating a pleasant tension that hints at even greater ascensions to come.
Buzzing keyboards and portentous drum beats lend the next passage an escalation of melodrama. A certain hesitancy overcomes its reluctance and the music swells with astounding stamina. Conventional percussion rises from the thick electronic miasma to capture attention with a strong rhythmic presence. Peppy tempos further enliven things with the fifth movement. The velocity of the music is increasing, accumulating power with each passing moment. The rhythms gather vigor and volume as the electronics coalesce into a demonstrative melody of ultimate conviction.
The sixth movement is brief and temperate, acting as a recuperative rest stop.
In the seventh passage, wavery electronics prepare the audience for a stratospheric expansion.
The 16 minute finale is soft and moody, allowing ambient soundscapes to flourish as a foundation for the pensive reprise of many previous elements in a sedate structure. The end is tender and reassuring.

Akwara displays a distinct reverence in his compositions, evoking spirituality untainted by religion, stirring the soul with dramatic music. A richness permeates these tunes, injecting a density to the airy flow that remains delicate despite its serious devotion.

Andreas Akwara - Pathos

Artist: Andreas Akwara
P: 2003
This CD from 2003 features 79 minutes of inspirational electronic music.
The skies cry, and church bells herald the emergence of solid rhythms and luxurious melody. Synthesizers generate swimming harmonics with a rising tide of embellishing punctuations. Wavering tones blend with atmospheric textures, creating a mood of pleasant anticipation. As the music's substantiality fleshes itself out, a mood of reverence becomes more and more dominant, conveying optimistic yearning.
Faux horns announce the arrival of sadness, reminding the audience of mortality and the limited scope of human understanding. This melancholy is set upon by more optimistic harmonies that goad the spirit upward. Serious morbidity is now tempered with anticipatory hope, delivering the music to an expansive stretch that belays any desolation.
Sweeping chords are accompanied by softly insistent synthetic rhythms. Some of these applications of artificial beats are refreshingly inventive, blending mechanical sounds with humanist disposition.
Like small pools of amorphous consistency, meandering passages separate the more melodic expressions, serving to enhance the crisp emergence of resonant satisfaction. These islands of engaging melody stand as focused oases amid the sobering sonic flow.
The state of pathos is often a road paved with morose introspection, but this music cuts through that emotional descent, providing a promise of accomplishment and fulfillment at the end of the depression.

Andreas Akwara - Quantum

Vibrant electronics and rhythms generate melodies of grand proportion, rich with emotion and full of epic inspiration. Some tracks pursue abstract structure, toying with layers of moody atmospherics that establish a soaring demeanor. Other tracks transform this whimsical meandering into masterful accretions which reach a delightful harmonic density. Much of the electronics possess a grandiose stature that lends colossal impact to the riffs. Deeply toned texturals sweep across the sky, sprinkling the landscape with auxiliary electronics of inventive definition. Swishing waves, buzzing diodes, twinkling keys, growling tonalities, sparkling glitters, piercing punctations--all contribute to flavor the flow as that nucleus musters stamina and puissance, ultimately achieving a demonstrative presence of sonic euphoria.
While most of the pieces explore celestial wonder with churning ambience, a few tracks exhibit compelling melodic substance. Cyclic chords skate across pensive foundations, creating a mounting tension that communicates a sense of accomplishment. Percussion contributes to some of these tunes, with subtle fashion in most applications, with authoritative nobility in some choice instances.
An earnest grandeur marks these compositions. While many of the songs display an initial sense of delicacy, things invariably evolve into expressions of vibrant depth.

Again Akwara recreates soundscapes with its own unique touch , but very similar to the first two releases of J.M. Jarre . Melodic , dreamy and rhythmic pieces with the typical rhythm of the Roland CR78 of that time . Cool...
