Exposed

Exposed is a german Electronic Music project. Man behind this project is Karl-Heinz Reiers, born 1961. At the age of 7 “Kalle” made his first experiences at the piano and joined the children’s choir Bochum at the age of 9. 13 years old, he discovered his love for Funk, Electornic and flying. He became employee of the Sternwarte Bochum with 18 years and made his first electronical and musical trials with the PC (Amiga 500, Startracker). The band “Novalis” was founded. Together with Talos ans Loius the trio created first landscapes and named this project “Musikalische Landschaftsmalerei”. 2004 Karl-Heinz started his solo “Exposed”-project. Fascinated by the possibilities of plugins he produced numerous songs only with the PC. Karl-Heinz “paints” his music with the pc-mouse, not using any keyboards or other input devices. 2005, schallwende e.v. voted him as best newcomer. Small coopertations with Harry Nies and Karl-Heiz Büttgen followed.

Exposed - Divemaster 08

Artist: Exposed

"Divemaster 08" is the new recompiled and completely reworked version of the album "Divemaster". The playtime has been extended by 6 additional tracks by over 30 minutes. The album lives from soft and dreamy harmonies, which are intercepted specifically by monotonous sequencer sounds. With its rhythmic tracks, ambient -instrumentals and E-guitars as well, "Divemaster 08" is a diversiefied and at the same time entertaining album, that invites the listener to descent.

Exposed - Inside the Cube

Artist: Exposed
P: 2007
"inside the cube" and "outside the cube" are the first two CD´s from MellowJet´s new artist "Exposed", released by any label. From about 100 tracks and several hours of "material" of the past years, we compile this first albums and mastered it with high effort. With simpe arpegiator sequences, coltish melodies and a breeze purism, KH Reiers abducted us without any detour straight into other worlds. The solist uses sounds from a lot of his entetypes and combined known with new elements. Without straining after effect his music concentrates straight to the essence. At the same time feelings and emotions come to the fore by using skillfull harmony-changes and melodies.

Exposed - Living in the Past

Artist: Exposed

Human lifes are guided by many factors. Sometime, for most of us a time starts, where we enjoy remembering the past. Sometimes we wonder, how many pictures we kept in our mind.
Those pictures are often guided by emotions or a special music. So, with "living in the past" Exposed produced avery personal album. With dreamy melodies, partly carried by mediaeval sounds, he abducts us in his own way to the world of dragons, myths and magic of ancient times. Thereby, the album has been aerated selectively by electronic songs. Appropriate for dreamers but also for fans of Mike Oldfield...

A lovely little tinkling piano melody is joined by slow relaxing rhythm then delicate ethereal pads. As an opener 'Down by the Hills' really couldn't be better. A stunningly beautiful piece of music.
'Inside Time' is very Jarre like, especially the lead line which sounds like something from one of the early albums (which I should be able to place but haven't listened to those works for ages now). Things do progress however as an infectious melodic sequence strikes up backed by rousing rhythms and more ethereal pads. The opener was a hard act to follow but if anything this sets the bar to even higher levels.
'Dragonblood' commences with gentle flute and soft strings backed by gently bouncing sequence. Another real winner that wouldn't have been out of place on a John Dyson album.
'Magic Nights' gets into a real groove with virtual guitar backing.
'Winterdream' brings the return of gorgeous melodies accompanied by simply awesome tinkling sequence and acoustic guitar lead. Bloody Marvellous!
'The Birth' is a jaunty number full of joy. Sawing strings get 'Introducing' underway. Yet another excellent tuneful sequence bounds forward. Both this and the previous track sound a bit like something from Ian Boddy's 'Phoenix' album.
Tinkling crystalline sequences form the backing for 'View into Time'. Again the melodies are exquisite, sighing vocal effects hitting the spot perfectly.
'Tales of the Eleven' returns to Jarre territory in the sequence department but the melodies are more playful (maybe a little too 'sweet' this time actually).
'The Voyage' is a dreamy acoustic guitar lead piece that reminded me, as do some of the other tracks here, of Daley and Lorian's first album. Again this is lovely delicate stuff.
'The Dragon and the Moon' oozes gorgeous melodies heightened by sighing choral pads and again reminded me of early Boddy.
'Bagpipes' features a very rough synthesised version of said instrument then lovely acoustic guitar over lush backing bringing up dreamy visions of a Celtic landscape.
The title track is initially a flute lead and slightly medieval sounding number which soon swells to uplifting anthemic proportions.
'Middle Earth' is a real stormer, ideal for accompanying any Elf versus Orc battle (with the odd tender interlude in there as well).
'Nightsong' returns us to Celtic sounding realms and is a beautiful gentle acoustic guitar lead piece.
'Wonderland' and 'Solvermoon Dance', as the titles suggest, are quite playful pieces.
We finish with the ethereal 'Bells' which has something of a Christmas feel to it and works well at the time of year I am writing this but is not the track I would have chosen to conclude the collection.
