Alquimia, the Mexican-born female singer and composer nowadays based in London, has with her own albums  as well as with her collaborations with Prudence-labelmates Zinkl, Roedelius and Peter Mergener set remarkable, sometimes quite experimental accents in our catalogue. For „Garden Of Dreams“ the highly productive artist has teamed up with one of the finest spirits among the Prudence artists: Together with Rüdiger Gleisberg, whose electronic music is strongly influenced by the European symphonic tradition, Alquimia has created eleven lovely songs. Her poetic lyrics and sometimes tenderly-melancholic, sometimes dreamily-cheerful melodies are surrounded by the sonic beauty of Gleisbergs artfully orchestrated immpressionistic and romantic sounds. For both musicians this album means quite an artistic departure, as both of them have never sticked so strictly to the song format before.

On „Garden of Dreams“ Alquimia creates angelic choirs, that seem to dance on Gleisbergs gently shimmering string-arrangements – thus unveiling a special world full of enchanting melodies and harmonies.

This album is the meeting between Hans-Joachim Roedelius, German pioneer of the electronic avant garde, and Alquimia, a versatile Mexican artist who has explored the possibilities of synthesizers as well as those of her voice in various innovative projects.
This unusual collaboration between them both has resulted in a likewise remarkable CD. There are melodic passages of a great emotional strength, which could be defined as a fusion of Atmospheric Pop and World Music. And among them both, others of a mysterious, even dreary character coexist, with a slow development and a structure ranging from Ambient to mystic ritual music.
Alquimia's voice, which she herself processes electronically in various ways, turns out to be unearthly at times, and very much earthly in other occasions, perfectly fitting with the electronic textures and exotic atmospheres.

Alquimia takes you on a journey to an ancient world of druids, bards, mythological heroes and maidens yearning for their lost lovers- the ingredients of Celtic legend. On “Forever” her warm evocative voice is combined with the arrangements of English composer Mark Powell to treat you to a selection of original and traditional songs. The album ranges from the romantic to the mystical. “Down by the Glenside” features Alquimia’s multilayered choirs and Mark’s colourful orchestration. The Enya-style “Serving Girl” and “Cantus Firmus” contrast with the plaintive “Bushes and Briars”, with its simple piano accompaniment to Alquimia’s emotive vocal.
“Singing Bird” and “Carrickfergus” are reminiscent of Norah Jones, and the romantic “Lass of Glenshee” takes us to the ancient Scottish Highlands, while “White Knight” evokes dreams of Arthurian legends.
As an extra, the CD includes 12 MP3s for your computer, !Pod or Mp3 player. The MP3s feature more intimate versions of the songs with voice and guitar.
“Forever” is presented in a stylish digipack with a 12-page colour booklet containing photos and lyrics to all the songs.
If you enjoy the music of Enya, Loreena McKennit or Celtic Woman this album is definitely for you-“forever”. The music in "Angaelic Voices", as the title suggests, presents Gaelic influences, and has a certain angelical air, magic, as if it were from a fairy tale. Alquimia sings here in several languages, including Gaelic, English, Latin and Catalan, and besides, she records her vocals in different configurations so as to create choruses and other often fascinating effects. In conclusion, this is an album that will no doubt increase the reputation of this artist of an exquisite sensitivity.

Mexico Rising opens with an epic concept track whipping through ambient, techno, ethnic and trance music and closes with powerful, spacey, sequenced music.  Inspired by a journey around Mexico and starting with an epic, six-section concept piece covering everything from dark ambient to thumping techno music, via melodic synth/sequencer material, all inspired by differing aspects of that majestic country. Joined by several long, sequencer-based tracks under the title "Space Odysseys", and even a synthesized orchestral/traditional music track, and featuring Alquimia (voice), Steve Jolliffe (wind synth and flute) and Richard Pinhas (guitar).

Voice and Lyrics by Arthur Brown, that reminds us to Dune by Klaus Schulze. Also the use of the Yamaha CS80, Arp 2600, Arp Odyssey and Minimoog by Jenkins give the perfect background of the music.

MARE NOSTRUM is the Latin term for our sea. As a free continuation of the music for the mystical night of bread and games in Trier (composed especially for it at the time: Nox Mystica and Vitam aut Mortem), this album was created on the theme of our sea. It appears again under the project name Mergener et Amici, and once again highly esteemed musicians have participated. Mare Nostrum is also the name of the supercomputer that is installed in the Torre Girona church in Barcelona and that creates calculations for research worldwide. The ocean as the origin of all life and man as the highest earthly form of life and his creativity find a mystical musical combination here. Mergener et Amici means mergener and friends: Alquimia, Rüdiger Gleisberg, Michael Wald and Anton Zinkl contributed.

Every year in August the Roman festival "Bread & Games" take place in Trier, Germany¹s oldest city. Main locations are the unique Roman monuments, the "Kaiserthermen" and the amphitheatre. Both magnificent structures have been placed on the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage. The program of the historical event offers attractive entertainment for everybody. In the amphitheatre you can see exciting gladiators-fights and a parade of Roman soldiers (legions), at night-time the arena is illuminated by torches. In the Kaiserthermen you can experience the daily life in a Roman camp on the Palästra. A special atmosphere in the "Mystical Nights" was created by Peter Mergener & friends (Mergener et Amici) and his sound installations in the illuminated underground labyrinth of the ancient bath. The music written by Peter Mergener and Alquimia, was specially designed for this event and was the first time Mergener et Amici presented their music live on stage August 2004.

On the DVD you can see and hear the whole concert, in another chapter you will have the opportunity to get an impression of the Mystic Night during a 14 minutes walk throught the illuminated aisles of the Kaiserthermen, another chapter shows the gladiators in the Amphitheatre and you can escort the legonaries from Porta Nigra to the Roman camp.
All music is recorded in real surround 5.1., so sit back, relax and enjoy a brilliant concert and the whole Roman festival.
