ASH RA TEMPEL, pioneering veterans of the "Berlin School", became known worldwide with their LPs / publications in the years 1971-1973. On the debut album of the same name from 1971 in the formation of Hartmut Enke (bass), Manuel Göttsching (guitar), Klaus Schulze (drums), ASH RA TEMPEL radically deconstructed elements of rock and blues and combined them with electronic sounds to create novel sound collages. Göttsching and Schulze met again and again during their later solo careers and demonstrated their musical ties to innovative guitar and electronics, but it was not until 2000 that they came together again for a short interlude as "ASH RA TEMPEL". Julian Cope (author of "Krautrock-Sampler") had invited Göttsching to his Cornucopea Festival in London, and so the wonderful opportunity arose for a unique reunion concert, which took place on April 2nd, 2000 in London's Royal Festival Hall. During the preparations for the concert, the studio album "Friendship" was created in advance. Both recordings, the studio album as well as the live recording from the concert in London "Gin Rosé" were released in 2000 in a small edition that was quickly sold out. The studio album "Friendship" was already re-released in 2014 (CD), due to the great demand here the long-awaited live album "Gin Rosé" is finally being reissued. Göttsching and Schulze combine tradition and vision, but instead of reactivating the sounds of the 1970s, the spirit of this unique liaison flows through every note of this concert, which is still contemporary today and shows the two actors with their usual and unwavering joy in playing. Recorded live at the Royal Festival Hall, London 02 April 2000 "Gin Rosè" is now considered a "farewell" concert in this line-up historically valuable document on German music history Klaus Schulze: keyboards, drum machines, sequencing, Manuel Göttsching: electric, acoustic and Hawaiian guitars  complete, unabridged concert on CD including bonus DVD of the entire concert

Join Inn features just two tracks - Freak n Roll feels like a 20 minute jam/improvisation and has Manuel Gottsching in absolutely blistering form. Meandering themes merge and blend in magical fashion, effortlessly coaxed forth from the strings of his guitar. Manic, pounding drums and breakneck-paced bass-work all combine into a miraculous whole. In sections, it sounds like each musician is wandering off doing his own thing. Then, suddenly, delightfully, it all comes together, forging a masterpiece greater than the sum of its parts, which leaves the listener drained but satisfied.
Jenseits ('Beyond'), is one of my all-time favourite cosmic/ambient chill-out tracks. Whilst the first track was guitar-dominated, the beautiful musical landscape of Jenseits is built primarily by keyboard. Building slowly, complemented by Rosi's achingly beautiful words, this is the musical equivalent of an out-of-body experience (which, from what I can understand of the German lyrics) is what was intended. When Rosi sighs "Nimm mich mit" (take me with you), you will want to go!

Comes in a CD-sized papersleeve album replica, with obi-strip and insert of notes mostly in Japanese.

Second release of legendary krautrock-trio (albeit no longer a trio: drummer Klaus Schulze has temporarily left to be replaced by new drummer + vocalist + sax-player). Just like debut clear distinction between hard rocking a.side and dreamy b.side (vynil of course) Light is distorted blues and Darkness is psychedelic space-rock. Vocals maybe not everyone's cup-of-tea but I think it suits the music. Suche&Liebe starts of very quiet with nice vibes,followed by a drumsolo (courtesy of In-a-gadda-da-vida) to end rather majestic Pink Floyd-style. Overall not the statement the debut was,but in retrospect a krautrock-classic still.

Join on a musical journey through "Space" and "Time" as the New Age group Ash Ra Tempel captures the movements of these two medleys, including the beauty of this timeless recording. Timothy Leary, known for his drugs experiments joined this project too. Sometimes it sounds like a liverecording more in the Krautrock sheme.
