"Breaking the Shell" is a recommended album for all those looking for new musical dimensions of surrounding sounds, danceable beats, touching industrial and dark ambient fanatics, all this in equal parts. A great surprise for our demanding ears.
There's a deep melancholy that courses through the nine tracks on Breaking The Shell, an introspective gloominess that Goyet paints with an array of spacey, prog-rock synthesizers, old-school electronica and trip-hop beats, and other nods to mostly older electronic music.

'R'Evolution' is the soundtrack to a visionary instrumental opera that depicts with sounds, beats, harmonies and visuals the birth, life, decay and death of our world, and a possible rebirth with a New Vision. Stylistically, this crosses electronic music, references the Klaus Schulze style swirling, dense atmospheric pads, contemporary chill-out that's not too dissimilar to Schiller, occasional nods to the style of dark ambient electronica circa Witchcraft, with a little Jon Serrie style space music thrown in for good measure. The album succeeds firstly and most importantly because it's an emotive and compelling listen, and secondly because it's all cleverly interwoven with simple but interesting rhythms that hint at ethnic origins while remaining totally contemporary. A great choice of sounds and atmospherics plus the occasional vocal textures add an air of mystery, and even occasional suspense, making for a hugely satisfying listening experience. The album is superbly produced and the music draws you in and doesn't let go. An exceptionally intriguing album.

Wonderful new release from French artist Olivier Goyet. The music on Samsara is the backdrop to the inspirational and artistic Gwam dance project that tours Europe. It is highly emotive and melodic instrumental music, laced with ocasssional vocal textures plus acoustic instruments and percusion that contains a depth and beauty that draws the listener in. Full of rich themes and gently rhythmic motion, this is a magical tour de force.

OS1 alchemic’ is a rich combination of deliciously warm and rounded electro sounds, presenting a sweet and spicy cocktail of exotic downtempo and deep house music with a zest of smooth jazzy flavours. The music is haunting with more than a hint of the sensual at play. The work of Olivier Goyet as a musician and as a pianist can be felt throughout this album by means of nicely layered chord progressions, string pads and harmonious themes. A wonderful musical vibe is instantly accessible thanks to the elegant play of light and shade achieved through colourful percussions, deep pads and beautiful voices. A treat for the senses and terrific chill out music. - O.S. is a project founded in 2014 by the french chameleon producer Olivier Goyet, also known for his work as Dead Beat Project.The music of ‘O.S.’ is different in many ways to DBP with its sights set firmly on the DJ Chill Out market. Its intention is to present a fusion of contemporary downtempo and deep house with a sensual vibe. Of course, there are still many artistic and vocal flourishes so reminiscent of DBP to be found here, in particular Olivier Goyet’s nicely layered chord progressions and melodic themes, ensuring the music of O.S. will find favour with fans of DBP.
