The Shaman's Heart is ethno-tribal music that is not only breathtaking, but will also induce an altered state of consciousness using Hemi-Sync technology. In this very powerful shamanic composition, Metcalf uses buffalo drums, rattles, udu, clay pots, seed pods, nature sounds, etc. It is very much like going on a mystical trip into a rainforest.

This is a powerful and unique rhythmic and soundworld trance experience based on the traditional structures of shamanic drumming used for altering states of awareness. The entire journey is built using a collection of buffalo drums, frame drums and rattles. Presented as a continuous, unfolding rhythmic state, starting with lone peyote rattles and evolving into mandala-like polyrhythmic bliss. Through it all is a shapeshifting undercurrent of essential soundworlds specifically provided to create support for the intrepid inner traveler. This is unlike any of the solo or collaborations from Byron and Steve.
The heart is like an alchemical chamber – possessing the power to transform and transmute, fears, wounds, and patterns that block us from always traveling on what Don Juan called “the path with heart.” The ability to remain “heart centered” – to stay connected to one’s compassionate core in the face of adversity and personal challenge is a hallmark of spiritual and psychological maturity. Shamanism is an ancient spiritual system that helps develop the capacity to live fully in the world of the heart. Using ancient and contemporary rhythmic techniques, the intention of The Shaman’s Heart is an invitation to journey into the infinite regions of this heart-space dimension. . . and beyond.
THE SHAMAN’S HEART is a continuous 73 minute journey using varying rhythmic subdivisions of the classic 220 beats per minute journey tempo. The uninterrupted experience is created from a collection of buffalo drums, frame drums and rattles. This time and space altering ceremony is supported with an evolving, breathing atmosphere of subtle contrasting harmonic embraces. Adding to the experience is the sense that it is all occurring in a grounded, environmental space through the use of sounds from the natural world. This potent offering of “music as medicine” can guide and support even the most intrepid of inner travelers.

THE SHAMAN'S HEART II is an entrancing 70-minute shamanic journey of uninterrupted, evolving tribal-trance drumming and percussion that continuously builds in rhythmic complexity and dynamic intensity. Byron is joined by Steve Roach who provides the harmonic and textural psychotropic stew created from a rich, organic and analog blend. The alchemy with the percussion results in an ecstasy that helps hold the space for the listener to journey far and deep into powerful and sustained shamanic states of consciousness. The journey culminates in a bursting forth through the full spectrum portal of pure existence -- returning safely home to the heart-centered presence and potential of the true self.
The continuous heartbeat rhythm, medicine rattles, heart and soul activating trance drumming combines with Steve's sonic mastery and deep didgeridoo to firmly anchor the entire journey to the listener's own sonically-driven trajectory. Repeated use of this music in a personal ritual or ceremonial context will enhance the heart's capacities for love, compassion, courage, power, and strength.

Colorado-based electronic artist Kelly David's debut CD sets course on an ambient-electro-tribal adventure. Drawing imagery from uncharted waters and travels between desolate islands in the South Pacific, the CD takes the shape of a soundtrack journey. Kelly's fascination with pure sound design combined with natural sound sources, mid tempo grooves along with deep textures lead straight to the heart of musical darkness... and light in an inviting sort of way. A strong debut by an artist who has been working quietly towards this release for several years. Mixed at the Timeroom by Steve Roach.

THE LONG NIGHT is a deep-breathing sigh of the eternal nocturnal: gossamer atmospheres for the still hours of the night. Focusing on non-rhythmic, textural-harmonic electronic soundscapes, this collaboration unfurls like slow-moving, moonlit clouds. Although THE LONG NIGHT leaves the lighted world behind, its midnight path leads to a state of gleaming serenity and calmness. This music is contemplative, though not brooding: a meditative environment filled with open spaces and tendrils of sound composed of shifting subtle moods and gleaming electronic passages.
The collaboration began during several late night sessions at Kelly David's Denver studio, where the two artists carved-out the basic tracks using only analog modular instruments. The sonic palette expanded when the recording moved to Steve's Arizona Timeroom studio, bringing in a deeper textural quality utilizing processed acoustic sounds and an expanded collection of analog and digital synthesizers, plus subtle outboard processing. The final mix by Steve further uncovers a dimensional depth, delivering on the subtle and intricate tones of David's and Roach's years of journeying the ambient night skies through the long nights.
THE LONG NIGHT is a sixty-one minute mental excursion into unforeseen creative possibilities when the night becomes a special time beyond sleep, a contemplative zen noir of minimal radiant ambience.

If there is a soul inside electronic music, Ma Ja Le has it. This album is sombre, introspective music that drifts along in the upper stratosphere. This music is the breath inside a whisper that leaves you wanting more.  Lots of dark tribal rhythms and also some smooth ambient syth stuff without the beats. This even has nice guitar treatments similar to David Pearce. It's a little dark - but nicely so. Each piece is different and creative.

Radiant Mind is an artist working in anonymity with Steve Roach as the producer, interface and on this release, collaborator. Presented in eight parts flowing forth in a continuous stream, HelioSphere embraces the sonic art form of pure space music: wondrous and expansive.
Radiant Mind first discovered the calling to create with synthesizers by finding inspiration starting with the formative early days of the pioneering radio show Music From the Hearts of Space. Over time, Radiant Mind's desire would evolve to create a potent blend of soundscapes for personal healing and extended meditation sessions.
Over the course of 2018, Steve carved on HelioSphere's production, mixing and additional synth spaces. Howard Givens provided the final mastering.
