Glenn - Arctic Treasures

Artist: Glenn
P: 2010
Glenn is probably tired of being compared to Jarre by now, but while the comparison isn't far fetched, there's also a unique "Glenn" style to the music. Most tracks are bouncier and more poppy than the average Jarre tracks. Catchy melodies and very nice common synthesizersounds.

Glenn - Electronic Secret

Artist: Glenn
P: 2008
His music is inspired by the late 70’s-early 80’s golden age of synth music. Of the influences that Henriksen notes, the most obvious is Jarre. Henriksen’s obvious affection for Jarre’s music may excite some and turn off others, but, for fans of classic synth music, Electronic Secret deserves attention on its own merits.
The album is made up of 10 songs in a continuous mix. The songs are melodically focused, with simple themes that are repeated with various instrumental combinations. Henriksen creates interest through tasteful arrangements and his choice of sounds, rather than from fiery solos.

Glenn Main - Into the Blue

Artist: Glenn Main
P: 2015
‘Into the Blue’ is the second Glenn Main album released by AD Music and is closer to the sound that many people have come to expect from the Norwegian synth maestro. Glenn’s primary influence is unashamedly Jean Michel Jarre and on ‘Into the Blue’, Glenn does much more than try to emulate JMJ, he builds upon that unmistakable style with flair and panache and the end result is “the sound of Glenn Main”, synth exponent extraordinaire. Make no mistake, ‘Into the Blue’ is far and away the best Glenn Main album to date! It shows a level of creativity, musical ability and maturity that goes way beyond his previous albums – Glenn has his own unmistakable style, which if anything shows us where perhaps his illustrious influence could have taken his electronic soundscapes. Those who have had the pleasure of seeing Glenn Main perform live will know that he is a sublime talent, and on ‘Into the Blue’ he shows us that musically and creatively he is now a serious force to be reckoned with!

Glenn Main - Live in Dortmund

Artist: Glenn Main
P: 2017
Stunning live album from Norwegian synth maestro Glenn Main, recorded in Dortmund during his 2015 European tour. The album features 14 reworked tracks from his growing repertoire, and he is ably supported by his son Nickolas Main throughout. Torsten Abel joins them on the last 4 tracks. The music is nicely uptempo with only a couple of reflective tracks, and the album exudes a feeling of fun; clearly everyone had a great time. For Glenn Main fans this is a ‘must have’, while for fans of Jarre, this should be in your collection too. And if you’re new to Glenn’s music, then this is definitely a great place to start because it acts as an excellent ‘Best Of’ introduction, with the tracks being sufficiently different to the originals to warrant investigation.

An excellent live album with top notch production.

Glenn Main - Ripples

Artist: Glenn Main
P: 2012

Glenn Main has established himself as a purveyor of high quality, melodic electronic music that sits comfortably in the realms of his influences. But his music bears only a passing resemblance to Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis or Tangerine Dream, because Glenn has carved out a totally unique style of melodic electronic music that has grown and evolved with each new release. AD Music is pleased to release his 4th CD "Ripples", an album that cements Glenn's place in the electronic music scene by virtue of its simple genius and creativity. Glenn is not just an expert keyboard player, but 'Ripples' highlights a growing maturity and a desire to explore new musical territory that has to be applauded.
From the delicate opening "Echoes of the Past" to the evocative closing "Outward Bound" this album washes gently and serenely over the listener with a warmth and emotional prowess that few artists in the genre can achieve. 'Ripples' is an album that oozes emotion, not only through the beautiful themes that Glenn conjures, but by the clever simplicity with which he creates his musical soundscapes. 'Ripples' is a thing of beauty, a delight to be savoured.

Glenn Main - Tribute to Jean Michel Jarre
Artist: Glenn Main
His first Introduction to the music of Jean Michel Jarre was a cassette recording of ‘Equinoxe’ and ‘Oxygene’ when he was just 9 years old. From the first play of ‘Equinoxe part 1’, Glenn was hooked and he repeatedly listened to the tape on headphones whilst hiding under the bedsheets. Glenn has followed the music of Jarre ever since and remains an avid fan and his own music is clearly influenced by the French maestro. So when Glenn began working on the ‘Tribute to Jean Michel Jarre’ album, it was no surprise that the first song would be ‘Equinoxe part 1’. Even the album cover has been cleverly crafted to reflect the ‘Equinoxe’ cover, with Glenn using the animated drawing of himself from his 2008 debut album ‘Electronic SecretThe idea behind this Tribute album is unashamedly to honour Glenn's idol, Jean Michel Jarre, keeping important elements of each song while adding a touch of Glenn’s own inimitable style with 2016 technology. Glenn is very satisfied with the result, and hopes JMJ fans worldwide will enjoy this ‘Tribute offering’ as a companion to the original music and a compliment to one of electronic music

V/A - E-Scape 2015

Artist: V/A
P: 2015
'E-Scape 2015′ is a collection of exclusive tracks from artists who will be appearing at the 2015 UK E-Scape Festival on 30th May. Despite the varied line up and styles on offer, this CD hangs together very well and is a very emotive album. From the classic opening UK synth sound of John Dyson and Michael Shipway’s ‘Ride the Beach’, through the romanticism of Dreamerproject’s ‘Hymne’, and the Berlin school adventures of Ron Boots’s ‘Berlin Thunder’, the album never dips below ‘excellent’ and there are no throwaway tracks here. Eric van der Heijden’s ‘Strange Escapism’ is a surreal sound voyage, FD Project’s ‘Beautiful Day’ is a full on, guitar driven live recording. David Wright’s ‘Walking With Ghosts’ Ambient Remix by DJMass is an interesting take on an old favourite and ‘Song for a Friend’ is a delicate rhythmic, ballad dedicated to the late Steve Roberts. Glenn Main’s beautiful ‘Escape the TNBC’ also has a strong personal overtone. Nice to hear music from Paul Ward again too, the interesting and playful ‘The Last Toy Emily Broke’ while Ron Boots concludes the album with the drifting and spaced out ‘Slow Flow’.

The album is dedicated to the memory of Edgar Froese and Steve Roberts.

This 2015 release features 77 minutes of dreamy electronic music.

This release offers previously unreleased tracks by musicians participating in AD Music’s E-Scape Electronic Music Festival in 2015. The contributions include:

John Dyson & Michael Shipway. Twinkling tones conspire with cerebral chords to produce an elegant tune laced with rhythms.

David Wright. Solemn beats and melancholy keyboards craft a stately piece dedicated to lost friends.

Eric van der Heijden. Reedy keys combine with breathy flutes and gentle percussives to generate a moody track in search of a way out.

Dreamerproject. Delicate harpsichord, rhythms and orchestral strings create a reverent song of tender sentiments.

Ron Boots. Majestic-but-understated electronics generate a mood of anticipation with cyclic chords seasoned by synthetic strings. The music gradually swells in muster, featuring a blooping undercurrent as the song’s puissance mounts to a loving crescendo.

Paul Ward. Strong rhythms support slippery keys that describe an edgy tune.

FD Project. Vibrant electric guitar is the key instrument here, accompanied by percussion and a ringing presence of pulsating tonalities to establish an ecstatic live piece.

David Wright. Regal tones delineate a pleasant tune laced with choral hints and whispery keys lurking beneath the more strident keyboard lead-riff.

Glenn Main. Piano joins electronic keys in a pastiche of fragile beauty that uplifts as it mesmerizes. The introduction of searing guitar midway elevates the piece’s inherent passion.

Ron Boots. Here, we have an epic (and winning) contribution-at 21 minutes in length. Rattly percussives tease vaporous electronics to coalesce into a soothing ambience that mounts some stately oomph with piano and additional keys, transforming the song into a lavishly emotional composition.

A worthwhile selection of international musicians, all displaying their skills at producing delicate electronic tuneage.

Various Artists - Electronic Music for Life

Artist: Maxxess, Moonbooter, Spyra, Robert Schroeder,
You, Eroc, B.Kistenmacher, Wellenfeld u.v.a.

P: 2011
All new titles compsed for this compilation.
On March 11th, 2011, Japan had to experience the most powerful earthquake of its history. Pictures of the following Tsunami were seen around the world. This natural catastrophe caused extensive and long lasting consequences. In one word: Fukushima.
Ten thousands of people died, hundred thousands are homeless. Families, children and old people are fighting for their livelihood. The world is shocked and takes share in the fate of the concerned. The quiet and proud japanese people welcome this solace. But even a country like Japan cannot manage the enormous challenges alone. Therefore, the consoling words have to be followed by action!
Based on this thought, Mellowjet-Records started the project "Electronic Music FOR LIFE" shortly after the catastrophe. The idea was to release a compilation and to donate the complete revenue to a charitable organisation. The response and readiness of the addressed artists to support this project was overwhelming. So, INTERDISC agreed to sponsor the first release of a double-cd-production. Even more artists joint the project.
The Eroc Mastering Ranch offered a free audio mastering. Company Rebeat offered the free digital marketing and added a special sponsoring package. A survey among the participating artists confirmed, that the revenue should be donated to the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK). Due to this remarkable development the DRK was convinced to support this project by allocating their logo. Within a few weeks only, Mellowjet-Records was able to compile and produce an excellent, 150 minutes long double-cd which involves all faces
of contemporary electronic music. Most of the 27 songs from 27 different bands and musicians have been composed exclusively for this project.
Only to mention some: Robert Schroeder, Eroc, Bernd Kistenmacher, Rolf Maier Bode, Harald Grosskopf, Mythos, Matthias Beine, Wellenfeld, Dithmar, moonbooter, Uwe Reckzeh, Spyra and many, many more. Besides dreamy sequences of Berlin School, powerful chorals, piano-ballades, orchestral works and danceable electronic music this double-cd offers as well experimental pieces, synthiepop, spacerock, chillout and ambient
music. Thus, this album should be part of every collection!
All artists as well as the label waive their share of profits. The whole revenue from sales of the double-cd and downloads will be donated to a project of the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz and will support the people in Japan directly.
Please support the victims in Japan by buying this album. Even if the world tends to forget quickly: the misery will remain in the everyday life of the people in Japan for a very long time.
Thank you very much!
