Danger in Dream - Iconic

Artists: Danger in Dream
P: 2019

Iconic is Danger in Dream´s new album. Like the legendary predecessor Entrance, this album is produced in the style of Berlin School, expanded with progressive elements. Iconic offers everything that delights us fans of electronic music: a lot of those great PPG sounds, driving sequences, analog moog basses, catchy solos, etc.
Danger in Dream use only hardware synthesizers, which are recorded in numerous live sessions in the studio. Accompanied by sequencers and arpeggiators, the artists record only the mixed stereo signal. The music gets it´s sound in a professional studio by the best sound engineers. The focus on the magic of the moment and the open approach give Iconic that distinctive organic flavour. Iconic is a sensational album. If you like TD's Exit, Logos or Hyperborea, then you will surely love Iconic.

Robert Wittek - Dejavu 1

Artists: Robert Wittek
P: 1998
Pulsating versatile synthesizer titles. Melodies and rhythms are the main part of the music.
Always harmonic and catchy. Very good start with this part 1 of the two part series.

At this 5th release of Robert he seems to be grown up within his EM field.

Robert Wittek - Dejavu 2

Artists: Robert Wittek
P: 1998

Tracks with a lot of synthesizer spirit. Jarre and Oldfield might have been the ancestors for this second part of his series. Once again the melodies and rhythms are main part in his music. Different tracks with that small deja vu feeling, that reminds the listener, that he might have heard this once....

Robert Wittek - Different 9

Artists: Robert Wittek
P: 2001

The 9th CD by Robert was a way out to a different style. He plays more in a lounge style, one time also like Kraftwerk and always very electronic.

Robert Wittek - Emotions 1999

Artists: Robert Wittek
P: 1999
Surely one of the most emotional works by Robert Wittek. Catchy melodies played by perfect synthssounds reflect the feelings he have had during composing these tracks. The music reminds a little bit on Mike Oldfields melodylines. Perfect for use while driving in your car.

Robert Wittek - Horizont

Artists: Robert Wittek
P: 1993

This CD shows a most accomplished and able artist at work. One similarity to Gandalf's work is that there are many acoustic instruments to be found in the music but unlike his more famous countrymen Wittek uses them for extra colouration, the synths are very much in the foreground and the 14 tracks here run the gamut of E.M. styles and due to the acoustic involvement manages to throw in the odd surprise as well. The opener "Am Horizont" is a gem. Starting off an a low note with bass chords laying down a mellow foundation, a xylophone pattern soon emerges before the percussion and brilliant sax assert themselves. This is one of those pieces where all the seemingly disparate elements gel into a work of art, it ranks up there with the best of them. This track has a laid back approach but it never even begins to slink towards any kind of torpor, this is even more the case with the next track "Digitale Dimensionen" where a vibrant rhythm supports excellent synth themes. Another point which should be made about this piece is the constant changes in theme and tempo which occur providing that Robert's musicianship and technical know how beyond any doubt, this is no amateur dabbler we're talking about here. "Kosmische Weiten" has an almost nursery rhythm feel to the melodies but this is a piece of great beauty and innocence building to an emotionally stirring climax Several pieces inhabit the same area "Vergessene Leidenschaft" for one although this is rather more downbeat. Throughout the remaining tracks the orchestral influences become unmistakeable as each score constant changes and never gets in a rut, similar to Optical Image album "Point of no Return" although for my money Robert does more professionally. Check this out if you want to hear some real classy music.

Robert Wittek - Live

Artists: Robert Wittek, Alexander Guelfenburg & Helmut Scheiber
P: 2000
Robert Wittek plays along with his friend Alexander Guelfenberg, both are also known as the project Danger in Dream.
Both are synthesizercollectors and here they can show their attitudes live. His best tracks are presented live in new versions.
It always sounds like a Jarre concert, but that must be the origin of the song's character.
As bonus you can find a Live Video clip of the concert on a CD-Rom part.

Robert Wittek - Millennium

Artists: Robert Wittek
P: 1996
This is actually straight forward outing than the aforementioned release with the orchestra influences of "Horizont" giving way to a style more in keeping with the current European rhythmic school. Tracks such as "Discovery" & "War and Peace" all showcase the more uptempo and of EM spectrum while "Royal Mission" & "Invention Of Enthusiastic Sleeper" (?) all sit within the midtempo range so prevalent in many European releases although the laughter at the end of the latter is a novel twist. The rhythms that grace "Flat Or Round"? even seems to hint at ambient scene and show Robert widening his palette of styles to good effect. He also seems to perfected the knack of cramming as much as possible into the relatively short tracks with the result that each one seems to last longer than it actually does. (in the nicest possible way, of course!!)

Robert Wittek - Panorama

Artists: Robert Wittek
P: 1994

14 powerfull electronic titles with a lot of rhythms. The TR 808 drummachine and the melodies are more in a rock-orientated style. But the electronic is also not far away. And the result is electronic muisc with a lot of rockmusic influences. You can here special loops of the Wavestation. The titel Titan is absolutly catchy and could be a top 10 hit. Fresh wind from Vienna.

Robert Wittek - Sphere Eleven

Artists: Robert Wittek
P: 2008

16 tracks in the typical Wittek style. This concept album was produced for the live event in the planetarium in Bochum Germany. Floating fadings between the songs and harmonic metamorphosis give a good impression in his synthesizerworld. So we find modern electronic compositions here with new sound surfaces and catchy melodies. A good fact is that he has the possibility to use his huge collection of vintage synthesizers, which offer a dense atmosphere and elegant rhythms in all his tracks.
