Moonbooter - Beyond the Neon Lights

Artist: Moonbooter
P: 2020
I am a child of the 80s. Born in 1971, I spent the formative years of my youth in the 80s. From a musical point of view, it was this decade that laid the foundation for many of today's genres and was therefore something very special. With Synthpop, Acid, House, New Age, Freestyle, Breakdance, Rap and also Punk, it is the electronic genres that fascinated me in my youth. I also discovered classical EM during this time. Whoever knows my music knows that all these styles are part of my music today.
With my 2020 album "Beyond the Neonlights" I remember the time of my youth in the 80s. Rather, it is the elements of the music of that time that are important to me and that I transport into the sound and possibilities of today. Thus "Beyond the Neon Lights" has become a maximally varied electronic album. And it should be. Because I owe that to the good old 80s.

Moonbooter - Both Sides of the Moon

Artist: Moonbooter
P: 2019
"Both Sides of the Moon" is his first double album with over 120 minutes, 100% new music. So no remixes and no live recordings. "Both Sides of the Moon" is on the one hand a homage to the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing on July 21st 1969. As the title of the album suggests, it's about the two musical souls in him that make up his music: Classical electronics and modern club music. Sometimes dark, sometimes melancholic, sometimes playful, sometimes serious. Kitsch is also allowed. But please with style.
All this is united on "Both Sides of the Moon" to a whole and thus his current album has become very diversified. Furthermore the sound is more open and even more dynamic. Sometimes a bit wider. Altogether less complicated. Not so full. It offers more space for peace, but also more power in the rhythmic pieces.

Moonbooter - Cosmoclimax

Artist: Moonbooter
P: 2009
With „Cosmoclimax“ moonbooter proves that his typical rhythm-oriented and danceable Electronic Music also works in a lying position. What does that mean: The music of his latest album has been composed for a live-concert at Planetarium Bochum, which Bernd presented in public first on February 14th, 2009 to a capacity crowd.
With melancholic melodies, driving percussions, broad choirs, catchy sequences and a skilful mixture of electronic and acoustic sounds moonbooter abducts us to unknown galaxies. Each song holds several bows and mostly ends differently than expected after the intro. At first. some songs sound trendy but then end up in a homage to classical EM. This time, Bernd approaches his typical theme “space” in a different way this time and leaves technical aspects far behind. Concerning sound, “Cosmoclimax” offers to the interested auditory a special transparency and many hidden details, which make this album an exciting experience also after repeated hearing.
”Cosmoclimax” is music to dream, feel and experience.

Moonbooter - Cosmologica

Artist: Moonbooter
P: 2010
When I played my first concert at Zeiss Planetarium Bochum in February 2009, the feedback from the audience and guests was more than positive. So, I of course accepted the invitation of Planetarium Bochum and the host schallwende e.V. for the year-end concert 2010. Only having short preparation time in 2009, I already knew the date for this year’s concert in summer 2010. Highly motivated I produced the music for this concert with the title “HELLO 2011” during the last months and the project “Cosmologica” developed. This title can be regarded as homage to my albums “Cosmoclimax” and “Teralogica”. And that on purpose: “Cosmologica” is supposed to continue the naïve-coltish ideas of my debut album and moreover owns the elegant and mature moonbooter-sound of the latest albums. Furthermore, “Cosmologica” should fit into the well known fantastic Planetarium-atmosphere without denying my rhythm-oriented sound. I refused all my knowledge about Space Music, as pure spheres and flats were not my intention. Something should happen. Music should be heard, felt and experienced. That already worked with “Cosmoclimax”. No rules. I was only inspired by my imagination of what I wanted to listen to underneath the starry sky. Scientific and partly philosophic lecture about quasars, the interstellar medium, black holes and much more from more than 200 episodes of “Alpha Centauri” helped in a way. So, I spent some summer nights outside observing the sky to sketch musical ideas instantly. That was fun which also reflects in the music. I automatically used more acoustic instruments and played even the guitar parts myself. Together with electronic sounds a symbiosis had been created in which both worlds cannot be differentiated. These differences have been continued consequently with partly melancholic but also humorous melodies. “Cosmologica” became a captivating space album, which convinces musically and sound-technically.
