Guardner - Somedays in my Life

Artist: Guardner
P: 2002
Elektrolux e1101111cd
Guardner aka Marcus Schmahl is back with his longawaited full length release „Someday (In My Life)“. The man who also received amazing support for his Rauschfaktor outfit with Frank Rückert now graces Elektrolux with his first complete solo album under his Guardner guise. And he has definitely excelled himself with this beautiful collection of electronic shortstories! These twelve astonishing little gems showcase Guardner’s deep love for intense downtempo excursions as well as his sense for epic arrangements. As with his well received recent 12“, Guardner once again delivers incredible emotional landscapes, melodic electro pop and freestyle grooves that are sure to get under your skin. Beautiful melancholic motifs team up with great vocal pieces on top of some serious beat business, combining a rough downbeat and streetstyle flavour with heartwarming strings and mellow pianoparts. Guardner fuses old and new, and uses a wide and colourful spectrum of finest ingredients to create something really unique. „Someday (In my Life)“ is destined to go down by storm with all lovers of modern eclectic electronic music. A landmark release within the german history of electronic listening. Marcus Schmahls winning combination of rich musicality and deep chilling grooves never felt so good!

Professor KazKaz - Algorhythms

Artist: Professor Kazkaz
P: 2007
Mikrolux MKX17CD

Don´t panic - this is not the relase of a confused professor who has just discovered electronic music. The CD also has nothing to do with the "Kazkaz the unholy" level of the online fantasy concept "Temple of Atal´Hakkar". Professor Kazkaz rather is the working title of the co-operation of two well-known members of the Elektrolux label family: Marcus Schmahl aka Guardner and part of the Rauschfaktor project and Gregor Tresher alias Sniper Mode, who, not least due to his releases on Datapunk and Great Stuff Recordings, has been elected "Producer of the year 2006" by the readers of the Raveline magazine. "Algorhythms" is a paradigm of the collabration of two autarkic artists bringing about something to be logically derived from the respective musical pool and, at the same time, going much further beyond. "Marcus and me have known and appreciated each others work for a long time. As Marcus´ projects are infuenced by his lounge and HipHop background while I am much closer to Elektro, we were convinced that a collaboration would bring about some interestesting music." (Gregor Tresher) "Finally, we both love electronic music, are genuine hard- and software junkies and get along very well with each other. Hence, it is not too absurd to get together and try out some new sounds. Last but not least, Professor Kazkaz has been a welcome variation in sound compared with our very own productions." (Marcus Schmahl) This way, tracks like "Serapatrix", "Europium", "Vacuum Science" or "Ellipsometry" live on a wishful, fragile and highly melodic form of romanticism entering into an alliance never heard before with smooth Elektro HipHop beats. If you want to look at electronic listening from an entirely new perspective: Here´s your chance!

Various Artists - Flowmotion Vol. 2 CD

Artist: Various Artists
P: 2003
Elektrolux E10000000

For more than three years now, the unique TV format „Flowmotion“ is being broadcasted nightly via public german TV station Hessen Fernsehen. Within short time, „Flowmotion“ has reached a maximum of popularity and managed to established itself as a audio-visual platform for different kind of projects, producers and video artists – thus closing a gap that conventional mainstream music television continously failed to consider. The sensational success of „Flowmotion“ therefore truely speaks for itself: feedback from the immensely growing community of fans on every new edition of the programme is overwhelming and already the first compilation of the Flowmotion archives on DVD and CD („Flowmotion Visual Pleasure Vol. 1“) has delivered great results with fans and press alike. Over and over again, critics praise the extra-ordinairy quality of the graphic animations and videos while the convincing selection of music almost seems to be taken for granted. With „Flowmotion Visual Pleasure Vol. 2“ the second summary of recently broadcoasted tracks and songs is now being released and yet again, the compilation sets the pace. Over the course of the complete playing time, a sensitive suspense is being built, leading through the different songs, combining them to one monumental piece of art: „Flowmotion Visual Pleasure Vol. 2“ covers almost anything from deep downtempo excursions and mesmerizing soundscapes to dub deconstructions and orchestral electronica and features many listening milestones from ueNN „Three Pilots“ or Aural Float „Switchin’ The Wave Of Thought“ to Rescape’s „Lichtwaerts“ and Múm „Ballad Of The Broken Birdie Records“. Exceptional artists like Sushi Club, Naoki Kenji or Guardner complete this outstanding tracklisting and underline the claim of the Elekrolux team to create nothing less than a genre defying release. „Flowmotion Visual Pleasure Vol. 2“ doesn’t leave the slightest doubt about this approach.

Elektrolux e10001000cd
How would you like to celebrate a special birthday? Would you prefer to wallow in sweet memories or would you prefer to look out for new future adventures ? Elektrolux seems to choose the second and, for their 10th Anniversary, releases a double CD which contains more than 20 previously unreleased tracks by some of the most renowned contemporary electronic listening producers (such as Aural Float, Fresh Moods, The Sushi Club, Gabriel Le Mar, Fous De La Mer, Ruxpin, Fortunato & Montresor and many more) and on top represents a comprehensive anthology with all known electronic listening styles 2005. Carefree summer excursions into the history of synthesizers (Groovecatcher 'The Electronic Kick'), slowmotion vocoder with mediteranean jazz (Guardner 'Everybody Needs'), tragic- melancolic dub- organs (Subtonal 'Back Home'), enchanting ambienttrance strings (Aural Float 'Still Here – Instrumental'), soulhouse hymns with analyzer crooning (Jean F. Cochois 'Electronique Love – Naoki Kenji Remix') or highly dramatic electro trance (Ruxpin 'Kiteboarding in the summer – Sniper Mode Remix'), everything’s possible. The Elektrolux Decade Compilation presents the perfect symmetry between harmonic high class electronic listening and a relaxed and modern understanding of dance-pop.
