Allier, Jean Christophe

Jean-Christophe ALLIER, new-age musician and yogi for two decades, has now started to work on sound thanks to a new perception of the dimension of sound depths, that only Sound Holograms can reveal.

Jean Christophe Allier - Ephemeride

Artist: Jean Christophe Allier
P: 1996
Jean-Christophe ALLIER was the first to introduce Music Assisted by Computers at the Cité des Sciences de la Villette (Paris) in 1988. As a former S.A.E. teacher, he uses his capacities of professional expert in synthesizers and samplers to produce personal compositions in an ambient and Kosmische Musik style. This synthesiser-player located in Nîmes offers a suite of contrasted melodies, full of finesse and nuances. To avoid the traps of the usual electronic album, he develops real melodies, with a rhythmic pattern. Like this, he produces images, sensations, emotions, feelings. He reminds VANGELIS by the beauty and the rhythmical impact of his melodies or rhyhmical and melodists musicians such as CHANGING IMAGES or VANGELIS.

Jean Christophe Allier - La Rosee

Artist: Jean Christophe Allier
P: 2007
"La Rosee" is the result of a collaboration between Swiss opera singer, performance artist and composer Rose-Marie-Denise DOBLIES and French keyboardist and composer Jean-Christophe ALLIER, the latter citing artists like Klaus Schulze and Tomita as inspirations.
"La Rosee" is a production that first and foremost caters to the needs of those who find skilled vocal performances interesting, and in particular those with a taste for highly experimental, improvised vocal deliveries. From a musical point of view it is less interesting – the innovative features used throughout are explored extensively in themselves rather than utilized as elements of a greater whole, thus reducing the creative value at least in this listener's mind. As far as a target crowd goes, I'd suggest that fans of Yoko Ono's vocal performances might be ones most interested in this album, as well as other female vocalists active or with a desire to be active in vocal-dominated music of the avant-garde variety.
