Mychael Danna and Tim Clement are veteran Canadian soundtrack composers and performers. They have collaborated on several CDs. Another Sun is a set of alternative ambience with dark atmospheres and gentle melodies. Danna & Clement use the Canadian wilderness as the canvas for their soundscape. Their unified soundworld is intricate and intimate. Deep listeners will experience the call of the Canadian wild as these synthesists take control and lead an expedition to the soul. Meditation is easy -- almost necessary -- as the psychoacoustic timbres and textures take over. This dynamic CD is impressive. It will appeal to fans of Michael Stearns, Kevin Braheny, and Tim Clark.

North Of Niagara is a suite of 12 pieces inspired by the vistas found along the Bruce Trail , Canada's oldest and longest footpath. The trail begins at Niagara Falls and follows the Niagara Escarpment - the edge of an ancient, shallow sea - for about 800 kilometers through Ontario. Natural sounds recorded along the trail enhance the artists musical impressions of this diverse landscape.

"The Best of Danna & Clément" is a meticulously remastered reissue of Mychael Danna's (whose soundtrack credits include "Exotica", "Ice Storm" and "The Sweet Hereafter") and Tim Clément's earlier ambient music works. This special edition includes a limited edition full-colour eight-page booklet detailing the history of the duo's writing partnership as well as extensive notes on each of the tracks. The material is the best ambient music and electronic music tracks drawn from their first three albums, "A Gradual Awakening", "Summerland" and "Another Sun". Also included is the new bonus track, "Lumia II", written especially for this audiophile 20-Bit mastered release. Nearly 70 minutes of music.

This album can be described as a suite for digital strings, along with various other instruments: oboe, flute, trumpet, and cello. It is a suite of tone-poems depicting the various cloud textures which appear in the skies of northern Canada during the cold months of the year. The composer uses a style of writing which he describes as romantic minimalism: "repetition of small melodic/harmonic cells, rendered with deep feeling, meant to elicit certain emotions which this sullen scenery inspires". This is a sister album to Danna's later work, North of Niagara. Both works are intensely involved with an exploration of the natural world from the romantic-minimalist perspective. Whereas North of Niagara is mainly a summer album, Skys is mainly a winter album: it is sullen, melancholy, dark, and majestic.
