When the sense of space and time disappears... Psychedelic sounds merge into an endless tapestry of sound, nothing can really be categorized here. It doesn't have to be, better switch off your head.
Only rarely do records like "ada" appear that offer seemingly endless opportunities to dream away - because there is so much history in them: "The new album is something like the essence of over 30 years of Electric Orange," explains Dirk Jan Müller, who started the long-lasting project back in 1992 in Aachen and later developed it into a great band.
Electric Orange are clearly rooted in the Krautrock of the seventies (and also use some of the equipment from this era), so many tracks are reminiscent of the well-known legends of the genre: Can, Tangerine Dream, Amon Düül - a mixture of everything the band members love. In this world, every groove is even better when you play it for minutes on end. Electric Orange's music is constantly evolving, spherical sounds come in and go out again... or are replaced by experimental wah-wah guitars. Space sound effects? Movie samples? Yes! Electric Orange reveal an expansive world and then lead the listener through it; their music is both driving and dreamy at the same time.

It is a good album with nice tunes, it includes the typical German style, combining electronic passages, but in this case, the space rock part is not so present. It maintain the minimalism style of some of the bands of krautrock movement, in specific the electronic side.

Electric Orange create some dark but laid back psychedelic soundscapes on this album. The sound is somewhere between Blade Runner and Pink Floyd's "A Saucerful of Secrets"

Of course, Krautrock also do Electric Orange on “gap”. This time it's a bit more earthy and rocking. The electronics have therefore moved somewhat into the background, especially in comparison with the direct predecessor "psi-hybrid". This is also evident in the fact that Dirk-Jan Müller is usually very prominent on the Hammond organ. A kind of retro krautrock is offered, which looks back to the early 70s of the last century, when such guitar-organ prog was very popular, and not just in Germany. Sprawling georges, screaming outbursts, cosmic wobbling and anthemic fanfares from Hammond determine the music, supplemented by the corresponding interludes from the electric guitar and the sometimes powerfully rocking, sometimes more discreetly accompanying rhythm section. In the two long numbers there is a good dash of psychedelic or jazzy jamming. "merkstein" is the more cosmic, wavering piece (with more use of synthesizers), while "the colorful" organ is more earthy and rocks more intensely.

Many tracks are previous unreleased and some of this music was already released on some CDRs about 20 years ago in very limited editions. These tracks always felt like just raw material, so we had the idea to compile an album of the best parts. All you can hear was done in 1996 to 1999, no remixing or re-recording took place. All we did, was to edit most of the tracks and combine all these bits a continuous mix - like a weird audio movie that could have been the lost album from that era.
