For this version, Rod Modell added rhythmic elements and further processing. The original Sonic Alter was one of the best selling atmospheric records, and possibly the best on Silent. Many brain-hemisphere synchronization techniques / frequencies are employed.

“The D/A album is a part of a series of albums that came out after A/B. A/B was a very minimal atmospheric ambient dronecore album that altered peoples consciousness. That is what I do. There are certain principles of psychoacoustics that is difficult to understand. Simply my mother was a mystic, she taught me things that only very high raja yogis teach or understand. Besides principles of Nada Yoga that I learned from a Raja Yogi I utilize principles from Integrated Tai Chi Chuan of the Chen Pan Ling tradition. And only a very few of them knew of these principles. I've incorporated technology to the practice. My father on the other hand brought home an Ampex reel to reel and a microphone for me to play with at an early age. And my father got me going on technology. So between my mother and my father I do what I do which is very very unique. I am able to change brain wave patterns and neurochemical balances of the listener. And the thing is I am still learning. This is a lifelong pursuit of truth and knowledge. My goal is to create music that causes soldiers to toss down their weapons and refuse to fight. My father was a very highly decorated war hero and he taught me to hate war. And he taught me why war dehumanized people through stories he taught me about how war messed him up. I will never forget his stories. For now I have not reached that level of music to end war. But the music I do create does change people.” — (Michael Mantra)
