Rob Essers - A Lizards Walk

Artist: Rob Essers
P:
1997
Second CD of Rob, this time divided in 3 long parts, is a nice follow-up to his debut-album "Raincolors". Those who love the old Tangerine Dream sound & sequencing must be heading for this one.
Rob is one of those brilliant dutch EM artists, who are quite enjoyable. This CD is a real jewel, phase 3 is the best track.
Its title could be Tangram part 3 and all people would rave bout the new TD release ;-)
Rob Esser is influenced by Schmoelling/Franke :-) Phase 3 [19:06]Phase 3a A Piano starts this tune with some *light* drums. A nice clarinet/flute melody with harpsichord chords complements that (not too sweetish) part. It´s slow has no kicking beats but I really love it. Definitely my cup of coffee. Logos is calling... After 4 minutes it´s fading out.
Phase 3b is a "noisy" one. Could be Tangram part 3 because it´s creating similar emotions to me. But your reactions can differ from mine since Tangram is still in my TD top 3. 6:16: This "Phaedra" flute´s like the one on Sequent C´ done by P. Baumann. 7:22: Mellotron sounds are appearing Gee! it´s Tangram part 3 again. After some sequences are turning in that part's fading out, could be longer, if you ask me :-( :-)
Phase 3c More sequences. BTW, I don't miss any sequence during the whole first 9 minutes: It´s not the kind of music were you are thinking: Let em start AAAA .... sequence ;-) Sequencing heaven with nice warm-hearted melodies. It´s similar to TD ca. Logos/Tangram.
13:35 Phase 3d Drums are added to the themes and sequences of Phase 3c. This one is much better than all stuff that TD had released after Poland 84.

Rob Essers - Raincolors

Artist: Rob Essers
P: 1995 / 2002
This is the 2002 remaster with three bonus tracks. It's over 77 minutes of music. This is an outstanding 80 s TD style sequencing album at it’s very very best! It has all the infectious 80 s synth elements TD had back then and more. Most of the tracks are top notch EM and sounds both innovative and interesting, and comes with a cover and artwork that represents the music very well. On the back of the CD cover you can see Rob’s studio along with some of his gear.
The bonus tracks originate from the same period as the album.
"The Gateway" has a very old analog feel. "Dream House" is quite atmospheric while "In Locked Places" is more rhythmic.
"Raincolors" is one of those albums, which needs to be cherished. Now, in this new remastered “coat” the listener can hold it more firmly.
