Reckzeh, Uwe

Uwe Reckzeh´s passion for classic EM started in the early seventies with albums from Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre and Tangerine Dream. In 1980 he started to experience with his first own synthesizers from Moog and Korg. Disappointed by his first results caused by limited production possibilities, he took a time-out, which ended some years later by the upcoming midification. Thrilled by new technical possibilities, Uwe, Susi Vering (Gesang) and Karsten Loos produced the CD´s "Trance Meditation" and "Universe" under the name "Project" in the early 90th. In 1997 he started his own musical career as a soloist by releasing his album "Behind the Northern Wasteland". The albums "Cosmic Water" 2002, "Timecode" 2003, "Point North" 2005 und "Altitude 30000" 2006 followed.  Uwe Reckzeh´s music is assigned to the traditional EM, which he transported into the 21st century like hardly anybody.

Uwe Reckzeh - Altitude 30000

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P: 2007
Watching the earth from orbit, a very special and unique view arises, which most of us only can dream of. Uwe Reckzeh´s fifth album adopts this theme and the imagination starts. “Altitude 30000” is a vivid EM-album with partly melancholic harmonies and mysterious atmospheres and effects, which arise steadily. Especially the 12-minutes track “Landfall” is a masterpiece of newtime romantic music. If someone had imagined in 1981, how EM might sound in the 21st century, Uwe Reckzeh’s “Altitude 30000” would have been the answer. A rumbling bass line shakes the floor, the track now reaching every strata of the sonic spectrum. The closest comparison I can come up with is 'Le Parc' period TD. A stupendous track. Multiple sequences weave around each other for 'Category 5' as we now enter something akin to 'White Eagle' territory. 'Landfall' initially quietens things down again as soothing whooshes and subtle touches drift through the ether. Then, all of a sudden, a wonderful sequence enters. I thought things were really going to take off but instead we settle into a steady mid tempo chugging pattern. The first sequence departs; another enters, only for the first to make a reappearance as they pulse around each other. Sequences still abound on 'List III - Katia', indeed it features some of the finest over the whole album. It's all quite complex but also mesmerizing. I found it best just to lie back with my eyes closed and let it all flood through my head. Even though the notes descend at quite a rate there is also a subtlety here, especially in the melody department that gives it a stamp of quality. An excellent way to finish yet another winner from Uwe.

Uwe Reckzeh - Behind the Northern Wasteland

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P: 1997/ 2006

Uwe Reckzeh’s first solo-album had been produced in 1997 uniquely. Very dreamy and strong melodies, soft harmonies, sequencer sounds a là TD and Uwe’s typical own style invite to a timeless journey. Loans from Kraftwerk like vocoders or 3D-effects, which could also belong to Jarre, create more diversification. Despite many involved genres, “Behind the Northern Wasteland” can be easily understood as concept-album. Uwe Reckzeh appoints themes and sounds skilfully which are repeated during the runtime of the album and which leave enough space for new options.
The album has been rematered professionally and the sound has been adjusted to the new albums.

Uwe Reckzeh - Cosmic Water

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P: 2002/ 2006
Dreams of the cosmic abyss are lightly created by Uwe Reckzeh’s second album “Cosmic Water”. Very silent atmospheres, attended by wonderful Arpeggio-sequences and always new sound-pads assure slightly floating relaxation, though it is not disturbed by monotony. Uwe is able to create in his unique way a kind of music which emanates complete calmness without boredom. Consequently, the title of this CD fits perfectly.

Uwe Reckzeh - Part Of Time

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P: 1995/ 2008
The tracks are all upbeat and either rhythmic or sequencer based (often both). Twangy pulses then a cracking rhythm propel 'Rising Star' forward in a wonderfully energetic manor. A stabbing bass line and staccato melodies add to the excitement making it hard to keep the body still.
On "Part of Time" Uwe Reckzeh´s presents his first Solotracks in the middle of the 90th, when he was working on "Project". Some of the tracks are released on "Trance Meditation" (1995) und "Universe" (1996). [1998 during the Schwingungenwahlen I had the idea to rerelease these songs and 2 new Bonustracks. So I titled it "Part of Time"]
Now, in 2008, the album has become it´s final face and compilation. All songs were remastered with huge effort.

Uwe Reckzeh - Point North

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P: 2005
With his fourth artwork „Point North“ Uwe Reckzeh invents again wonderful new melodies and enriches the EM by another gorgeous album. He shows, that it is not necessary to leave known paths and that his own style offers unlimited possibilities. “Point North” is a classical EM-album which uses many known and new sounds and perfectly unites all parts to one complete piece of art.

Uwe Reckzeh - Surreal Dreams

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P:  2018

Uwe Reckzeh answers. Almost three years ago, the Westphalian musician published his last work in Berlin School Style with "Surreal Dreams". One preliminary: When recognizing his current 2018 album "Surreal Dreams" ever full score. Reckzeh's style is inimitable. Nevertheless, fans will discover many new features. "Surreal Dreams" is more musical. It could also be said that it is more human. This makes "Surreal Dreams" less perfect than "Surreal Dreams" and that's exactly what makes this new album different. It seems that Reckzeh's new music is more random. This is not only nice but also very exciting. You never know what will happen next. Nevertheless, the entire album retains its "flow". Nothing is "perfect" down to the last detail. Corners and edges are desired. Chaos and order are directly opposite. In interaction, all 7 tracks seem to be from one piece. This "Surreal Dreams" is supported by a maximum of varied monotony, as only Reckzeh mastered. With "Surreal Dreams" Uwe Reckzeh once again succeeded in creating an extraordinary and special album in Berlin's school style, which stands in clear contrast to the countless 08/15 breakfast productions. Is not it the un-perfect thing that makes things special? This is fresh Berlin school in perfection.

Uwe Reckzeh - Timecode

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P: 2006
The third album „Timecode“ by Uwe Reckzeh is, in opposite to „Cosmic Water“, more rhythmic. The theme of this work is time, which continuously slips away. His music guides this time through crystal clear songs in second-pulse, which seem to roam through the listeners ear with comprehensive digital sounds. Anyway, Uwe’s own handwriting is present everywhere. Who likes TD will love this CD.

Uwe Reckzeh - Unnatural Light

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P:  2009

On his seventh album Uwe Reckzeh again shows in an impressive manner, how Electronic Music can sound in the 21st century. More than two years the master has worked on his songs and once more created unique masterpieces who can easily cope with the big EM productions. Experimental parts are missing. More than that, Uwe’s complex-hypnotic sequencer lines and catchy melodies fascinate. Besides traditional elements Uwe refreshes his music with modern sounds, but hides them somehow timid in the background. The theme of this CD is light with all its related associations like warmth, speed and energy.
The music immediately surrounds the listener with a comforting mood, which invites to dream.
Depending on the own personal mood, each song holds the power to transform and to accompany with this mood…just ”unnatural”.

Uwe Reckzeh - Virtual Minds

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh

Fireworks of sequences and melodies. This reminds of TD times around Poland, but also Reckzeh's own style comes through. A good combination that fits well and you can hear the catchy pieces on and on. Reckzeh manages to leave old times revived without sounding like old retro with his own selection of well known synthesizersounds. Imaginative and versatile.

Uwe Reckzeh - Voyage

Artist: Uwe Reckzeh
P: 2021

Uwe Reckzeh is back again. Yes, it's been three years again since the electronic musician released his last album "Surreal Dreams". With his new album "Voyage" he continues his love for EM in the style of the Berlin School. Much is new, but also this time his current 2021 album "Voyage" maintains Reckzeh's roots.
A strength of the musician is that he combines the ever new sounds with the classic sounds of traditional EM. It is amazing how modern Berlin school can sound. The pieces on "Voyage" stand for themselves this time and tell about the different emotions a journey can offer. "Voyage" is not really a classic concept album. And that is also good in this case. This is fresh Berlin school in perfection.

Various Artists - Electronic Music for Life

Artist: Maxxess, Moonbooter, Spyra, Robert Schroeder,
You, Eroc, B.Kistenmacher, Wellenfeld u.v.a.

P: 2011
All new titles compsed for this compilation.
On March 11th, 2011, Japan had to experience the most powerful earthquake of its history. Pictures of the following Tsunami were seen around the world. This natural catastrophe caused extensive and long lasting consequences. In one word: Fukushima.
Ten thousands of people died, hundred thousands are homeless. Families, children and old people are fighting for their livelihood. The world is shocked and takes share in the fate of the concerned. The quiet and proud japanese people welcome this solace. But even a country like Japan cannot manage the enormous challenges alone. Therefore, the consoling words have to be followed by action!
Based on this thought, Mellowjet-Records started the project "Electronic Music FOR LIFE" shortly after the catastrophe. The idea was to release a compilation and to donate the complete revenue to a charitable organisation. The response and readiness of the addressed artists to support this project was overwhelming. So, INTERDISC agreed to sponsor the first release of a double-cd-production. Even more artists joint the project.
The Eroc Mastering Ranch offered a free audio mastering. Company Rebeat offered the free digital marketing and added a special sponsoring package. A survey among the participating artists confirmed, that the revenue should be donated to the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK). Due to this remarkable development the DRK was convinced to support this project by allocating their logo. Within a few weeks only, Mellowjet-Records was able to compile and produce an excellent, 150 minutes long double-cd which involves all faces
of contemporary electronic music. Most of the 27 songs from 27 different bands and musicians have been composed exclusively for this project.
Only to mention some: Robert Schroeder, Eroc, Bernd Kistenmacher, Rolf Maier Bode, Harald Grosskopf, Mythos, Matthias Beine, Wellenfeld, Dithmar, moonbooter, Uwe Reckzeh, Spyra and many, many more. Besides dreamy sequences of Berlin School, powerful chorals, piano-ballades, orchestral works and danceable electronic music this double-cd offers as well experimental pieces, synthiepop, spacerock, chillout and ambient
music. Thus, this album should be part of every collection!
All artists as well as the label waive their share of profits. The whole revenue from sales of the double-cd and downloads will be donated to a project of the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz and will support the people in Japan directly.
Please support the victims in Japan by buying this album. Even if the world tends to forget quickly: the misery will remain in the everyday life of the people in Japan for a very long time.
Thank you very much!
