Ash Ra Tempel - Ash Ra Tempel (Remastered)

Artists: Ash Ra Tempel
P: 1971 / 2011
Here the newly remastered version made by Manuel Goettsching.
The first Ash Ra Temple release. The first song is a long, crude, pedestrian, psychedelic jam that makes BLUE CHEER seem like jimi hendrix. the other song is a quieter ambient piece that's something special. Often there's a very good reason an album (cd) is obscure, this is!

Conny Plank was the producer and Klaus Schulze was also on electronics and on percussion and drums.

Ash Ra Tempel - Join Inn (Remastered)

Artists: Ash Ra Tempel
P: 1993 / 2011
This is the new remastered version by Manuel Goettsching.
Join Inn features just two tracks - Freak n Roll feels like a 20 minute jam/improvisation and has Manuel Gottsching in absolutely blistering form. Meandering themes merge and blend in magical fashion, effortlessly coaxed forth from the strings of his guitar. Manic, pounding drums and breakneck-paced bass-work all combine into a miraculous whole. In sections, it sounds like each musician is wandering off doing his own thing. Then, suddenly, delightfully, it all comes together, forging a masterpiece greater than the sum of its parts, which leaves the listener drained but satisfied.
Jenseits ('Beyond'), is one of my all-time favourite cosmic/ambient chill-out tracks. Whilst the first track was guitar-dominated, the beautiful musical landscape of Jenseits is built primarily by keyboard. Building slowly, complemented by Rosi's achingly beautiful words, this is the musical equivalent of an out-of-body experience (which, from what I can understand of the German lyrics) is what was intended. When Rosi sighs "Nimm mich mit" (take me with you), you will want to go!

Klaus Schulze & Lisa Gerrard - Farscape

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Lisa Gerrard
P: 2008

Warm, flowing soundscapes, rhythms and well-paced sequencing with the fantastic, vibrating and very expressive voice of Lisa. This is a unique album - not in that it delivers strikingly new elements, beautiful synthesizer music has been developing for many years now, with Klaus Schulze there pretty much from the start and Lisa Gerrard's voice has become legendary, familiar across the globe - but this coming together is where the special nature of this CD lies. The musical personas of these two artists are both powerful and individual - their immersion in their craft deep and passionate - when they come together, the result is moving, mesmerizing.
Fans of Lisa Gerrard will find this double album to be yet another quality expression of her incredible sound, buoyed up with the restrained dignity of the music. Lovers of Klaus Schulze will certainly be delighted by this collaboration - his vision having come to exquisite fulfillment.

Klaus Schulze (Wahnfried) - Megatone

Artist: Klaus Schulze
P: 1984 / 2000

During the eighties, the German synth legend Klaus Schulze pursued his solo adventure, working at the same time for his Wahnfried project. This "Megatone" brings something new to his usual "kosmische musik". A new element appears once again after the classic "Time Actor"; the presence of a singer (Michael Garvens). The voice appears in the modern and "mechanical" electronic piece called «Angry Young Boys". Schulze synth explorations are also sustained by guitar parts & sequencers, drum- machines. This vast & epic cosmic "trip" mixes pure atmospheric realms (the synth strings) with perpetual, repetitive drum rhythms. "Megatone" is a deep electronic album but not as abstract or as meditative as before. The electronic pulsations and the pop arrangements put Schulze's music into a more "mainstream" level.

Klaus Schulze + Lisa Gerrard - Dziekuje Bardzo DVD

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Lisa Gerrard
P:
2009
In the successful history of the cooperation between Klaus Schulze and Lisa Gerrard a new chapter is written. Klaus Schulze is an institution, a living legend: He was a member of electronic bands, since 1972 he has recorded solo records, he produced Bands like Ideal or Alphaville und he took part in the recording of Schiller's platinum-album "Sehnsucht", he has entered various co operations, always full of suspense, always innovative.
Gerrard, born in Melbourne, Australia was once a member of the unique duo Dead Can Dance and has since contributed to a host of movie scores such as Gladiator, Ali and Whale Rider. She owns one of the most remarkable and expressive voices of modern times.
"I have wanted to work with Lisa since the days of Dead Can Dance in the 80's, but I never had an opportunity for such a collaboration", Schulze says.
After the extremely successful studio album to "Farscape" and the DVD/CD "Rheingold" with "Dziekuje Bardzo" (Polish for "many thanks") CD Set will be released which reveals more highlights.
The DVD not only contains the concert in Warsaw, you will also find a complete concert which was recorded the day before in the Schiller's Theatre in Berlin.
Especially the Warsaw concert was a big emotional moment and a triumphant return for Klaus Schulze
25 years after his last concerts in Poland (which can be heard on "Dziekuje Poland live 83" SPV304972) he returned to the place where he can count on his most loyal fans.
As always with Klaus Schulze exclusive new pieces were played in both concerts, Lisa Gerrard is to be heard on the tracks "Bazylika NSJ", "Godspell", "Ocean Of Innocence" and "Spanish Ballerina" as a singer, "Shoreless One" and "Shoreless Two" are two long Klaus Schulze-solo pieces with breathtaking solos on the Mini-Moog.
Both concerts differ in atmosphere, intensity and character clearly from the Loreley concert and present again a huge number of new facets.
The DVD is published in an elegant slipcase and contains the 30-minute documentation "In The Moog For Love" with a detailed interview with Lisa Gerrard in addition to the concert, directed by James L. Frachon

Recorded 12 and 13 November 2008 during concerts in Berlin and Warsaw, mix in Paris and Hambühren

Klaus Schulze + Rainer Bloss - Drive Inn

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Rainer Bloss
P:
1984
Drive Inn is another album recorded by the duo of two Germans: Klaus Schulze and Rainer Bloss. This is the only album of theirs where the latter is the full contributor. Usually the album is attributed to Klaus Schulze and listed in his discography.
For Klaus, this was an experiment. Nevrtheless "Drive Inn" is the first album of his that features short compositions. They were written with truck drivers in mind. The compositions are either electronically aggressive, or they are monotonous in a typical Schulzian way.
The album can be pretty much summarized as follows: rhythm, rhythm and a bunch of wild sounds thrown in from time to time.

Klaus Schulze + Schickert - The Schulze-Schickert Session (Deluxe Digi)

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Günther Schickert
P: 1975 / 2013
Deluxe Digi-pack CD version.
For the first time, from the vaults of electronic music guru, Klaus Schulze, comes The Schulze-Schickert Session, a rare and previously unreleased private session featuring echo-guitar pioneer, Günter Schickert. Recorded on 26 September 1975 in Klaus Schulze’s home studio in Hambuehren, Germany, Schulze can be heard playing an EMS Synthi A, as well as keyboards, and a Syntanorma, while Schickert plays a 12-string Framus with metal strings and also sings on a few tracks. Although Schickert’s name is little-known outside of a very select circle of krautrock fans, he was a key member of the Berlin free jazz scene of the 1960s and a pioneer of the echo-guitar. Just prior to the recording of this informal session, Schickert’s first LP, Samtvogel, was released on the seminal Brain label. On the two bonus tracks, found only on the CD version, Schickert’s playing ebbs, as Schulze takes on the more dominant role.

Klaus Schulze + Sergius Golowin - Lord Krishna von Goloka

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Sergius Golowin
P: 1973 /
1999
An original psych/ folk project directed by the esoteric Swiss writer Sergius Golowin. It is in the mood of Rolf Ulrich Kaiser's « Cosmic couriers » series, including many musicians of the krautrock scene for psychedelic improvisations recorded in three epic pieces. Conceptually this album deals with India mysticism, ecstasy and undirectly with drugs experiences, put in music to create a unearthly, beautiful journey through the cosmos and the hidden side of the Humanity. It contains ravishing, odd, spiritual recitations in German taken from Sergius' personal writings. The musical background is essentially under the direction of the folk duo Witthuser & Westrupp who play here all the acoustic parts (flute, bongos, guitars.) and Klaus Schulze in order to provide a timeless and an exotic touch to the album. With lots of psychedelic, electronic, meditative effects combined to spoken words, the atmosphere of this album delivers a very mysterious, refined 'trip' that can easily haunts the listener, brings him into an other galaxy, far from the materialist preoccupations of our common world. This album is uncomparable, the music is unbelievable and can be considered as the most achieved musical document recorded by Rolf Ulrich Kaiser for his delirious "Cosmic Couriers" adventure. A must of "Cosmic music" and a very nice prog folk effort.
