Mäläskä is established in 2016 by Remy Stroomer (synthesizers/sequencing) and Petter Janse (guitar/sequencing). Two musicians from different musical traditions, who compromise each other in electronic improvisation. This in their own world Mäläskä. Floating. Earthly. Spontaneous. Symbiotic. Ad Libitum. Sometimes familiar. Sometimes surprising. Sometimes nothing. But then also everything.
The improvised LSD-electronica of Mäläskä is being created on the moment. With the exception of a couple of pre-programmed elements, nothing is certain during an performance of the band.
If there really is need to compare, one might describe Mäläskä’s music style as a mix of The Orb, Amon Düül and Brian Eno.
