This reissue of his early album. One can hear the seeds being lain for the organic Rainforest, Geometry was inspired by the mathematical relationships between the notes in just intonation. There are three main types of compositions here droning atmospheres, percolating ethnoambient works, and electronic pieces intertwining layers of sequenced melodies and rhythms in mind-boggling ways. Rather than set his sequencers on stun with rigid rhythms on these latter cuts, he mixes ever-changing programmed polyrhythms with live keyboard playing in beguiling ways, steadfastly proving that electronic musicians can be far more than pedestrian knob-twiddlers.

With the Robert Schroeder's seventh publication BRAIN VOYAGER eyes and ears opened in many places, because with BRAIN VOYAGER the music world got a special sound carrier. BRAIN VOYAGER is the soundtrack to in 1985 in the FRG in 3D effect filmed Ludwig TIECK novella "DES LEBENS ÜBERFLUSS".Here by a new production procedure Schroeder lent to his music "SPACE" in the most true sense of the word.BRAIN VOYAGER is the worldwide first CD publication with music admissions in so-called ART HEAD TECHNOLOGY. ART HEAD (or often called dummyhead) and DIGITALLY was here the sound formula which allows to experience the work in the crystal clear supersound. The soft Electronics Music moved with classical here elements carries a character spatial really distinctively by the new production procedure, sounds are completely discernible. The technology moreover, the so-called AACHEN ART HEAD, was developed by Dr. GENUIT in RWTH Aachen.A prominent and noteworthy production was and is unconditional BRAIN VOYAGER. And recognised one not only the nationwide media and hi-fi freaks (the CD received in the magazine Audio/1986 the evaluation HiFi reference CD). Also the foreign country became attentive by BRAIN VOYAGER massively on Robert Schroeder.

This Album is a re-mix/re-recording CD of various earlier Schroeder cuts modernized in a less droning, and more traditionally arranged format with more song structures and better control over synth sequences. Some of the leads go on a bit, and it sounds dated at times, but real effort was put into this at the time to refine and perfect an attempt at a more structured electronic sound. To this day, some of the cuts hold up quite well. This is often a really cool sounding album, and at the time no one else was making anything close to it really. Just superb.

Robert Schroeder searched his drawer for some old musical treasures. And indeed he selected some fine pieces of the early 80s. Many Schroeder fans love his typical sound of the 80s which revives on this album. One is amazed about the good sound quality of some tracks.
This is absolutely recommended to all Schroeder fans of the early days.

In 1994 EVERDREAMS on NEWS-music was published. EVERDREAMS is the studio-produced version of the successful live concert in Nijmegen, NL 08.10.1994. This product connects style directions like trance, Ambient, electronics, sphere and soft rock. The title Smoothing Shadows was accompanied by ex-Warlock guitarist Christian GUTH with E guitar.

HAMAJA comes from the Hebrew and signifies "place of the shelter". HAMAJA is the 10th solo album of Robert Schroeder.
HAMAJA is an animation for the senses, synthesizer music for the mind, for the heart and the soul. HAMAJA - means meditative sphere sounds, romantic melodies and dynamic rhythm parts - a synthisible work for sensitive hours.

In 1993 the German sound artist published his 74-minute work MINDWALK. This 11th solo album exists partly of rhythmical, tuneful instrumental tracks (synthi, drums, guitar) and partially of sphere, meditation and sound sceneries. Some tracks were composed especially for live appearances. They originated in 1990 on the occasion of the MINDWALK concert night music in the West German Radio (WDR, Cologne, 3.3.1990). The live recordings of this concert were bad and therefor the repertoire of this successful concert was reconstructed, taken up anew, complemented and produced. Here it was, above all, about it, the atmosphere, the mood of this live event without bringing the undesirable side effects and in the good studio sound on CD. Great product and very warm and dynamic sound.

PARADISE (1983), the fifth solo LP of the German artist, showed clearly that Robert Schroeder has other thoughts about an "other kind of electronic music" seemed to come along. The music of his publications changed constantly. In addition Robert even: "A growing musician goes through a constant development, he has to find himself. However, besides, clear recognition times, peculiarities of the artist continue, from the outset and harden more and more to that what corresponds to the artist. He is found". PARADISE is different, but typical and unmistakeably Robert Schroeder.

Schroeder returned somewhat to a more ambient sound, with lush, digital landscapes that sound nothing like the photograph on the cover and more like a spaceship grinding it's way through the universe from a William Gibson novel in alpha state. Almost gone are the drums and drum machines, and the leads are often blended more fully into the mix than before. There's a lot of digital filter sweeps here that grow old and put the CD in it's era, giving it a dated sound at times, but there is also some thick, powerful pads that give the CD a rich feel to it and nothing like this really existed at the time. Out of all of Robert's CDs, this (and ironically, Harmonic Ascendent) hold up best over the years. If I were to recommend one CD of his, it would be either this, HA, or Computer Voice.
This is the new version on the IC Label, without the wrong tracks.
