Klaus Schulze + Lisa Gerrard - Dziekuje Bardzo DVD

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Lisa Gerrard
P:
2009
In the successful history of the cooperation between Klaus Schulze and Lisa Gerrard a new chapter is written. Klaus Schulze is an institution, a living legend: He was a member of electronic bands, since 1972 he has recorded solo records, he produced Bands like Ideal or Alphaville und he took part in the recording of Schiller's platinum-album "Sehnsucht", he has entered various co operations, always full of suspense, always innovative.
Gerrard, born in Melbourne, Australia was once a member of the unique duo Dead Can Dance and has since contributed to a host of movie scores such as Gladiator, Ali and Whale Rider. She owns one of the most remarkable and expressive voices of modern times.
"I have wanted to work with Lisa since the days of Dead Can Dance in the 80's, but I never had an opportunity for such a collaboration", Schulze says.
After the extremely successful studio album to "Farscape" and the DVD/CD "Rheingold" with "Dziekuje Bardzo" (Polish for "many thanks") CD Set will be released which reveals more highlights.
The DVD not only contains the concert in Warsaw, you will also find a complete concert which was recorded the day before in the Schiller's Theatre in Berlin.
Especially the Warsaw concert was a big emotional moment and a triumphant return for Klaus Schulze
25 years after his last concerts in Poland (which can be heard on "Dziekuje Poland live 83" SPV304972) he returned to the place where he can count on his most loyal fans.
As always with Klaus Schulze exclusive new pieces were played in both concerts, Lisa Gerrard is to be heard on the tracks "Bazylika NSJ", "Godspell", "Ocean Of Innocence" and "Spanish Ballerina" as a singer, "Shoreless One" and "Shoreless Two" are two long Klaus Schulze-solo pieces with breathtaking solos on the Mini-Moog.
Both concerts differ in atmosphere, intensity and character clearly from the Loreley concert and present again a huge number of new facets.
The DVD is published in an elegant slipcase and contains the 30-minute documentation "In The Moog For Love" with a detailed interview with Lisa Gerrard in addition to the concert, directed by James L. Frachon

Recorded 12 and 13 November 2008 during concerts in Berlin and Warsaw, mix in Paris and Hambühren

Klaus Schulze + Rainer Bloss - Drive Inn

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Rainer Bloss
P:
1984 / 1990
Drive Inn is another album recorded by the duo of two Germans: Klaus Schulze and Rainer Bloss. This is the only album of theirs where the latter is the full contributor. Usually the album is attributed to Klaus Schulze and listed in his discography.
For Klaus, this was an experiment. Nevrtheless "Drive Inn" is the first album of his that features short compositions. They were written with truck drivers in mind. The compositions are either electronically aggressive, or they are monotonous in a typical Schulzian way.
The album can be pretty much summarized as follows: rhythm, rhythm and a bunch of wild sounds thrown in from time to time.

Klaus Schulze + Rainer Bloss - Drive Inn 1 + 2

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Rainer Bloss
P:
1984 / 1990 / 2022
Klaus Schulze has entered into numerous, highly interesting collaborations in his long career. He always consciously looked for artists who were a complementary antipode, who inspired him and enriched his own world of sound. In Rainer Bloss, whom Klaus got to know by sending him a demo tape, he found a partner who had exactly these requirements.Rainer Bloss was a trained musician and composer who composed and produced numerous soundtracks for films and music for theater plays in the former GDR until he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany. He was also the head of the Rainer Bloss Sextet and a member of the band Wir.
His virtuosity as a keyboardist, his very own compositional style, which at the same time allowed uninhibited improvisation, was the perfect prerequisites for a partnership with Klaus Schulze. After Rainer Bloss made his mark on the Klaus Schulze classic "Audentity" (1983, MIG01322), a nine-day tour with Klaus Schulze through Poland followed, which is featured in the famous live album "Dziękuję Poland" (1982, MIG01442). Rainer Bloss had already outgrown the role of guest musician, which is evident not least from the fact his name appeared on the cover on equal terms with the names of both artists as the first real joint work. During the long car journeys between the performances, the two musicians were often annoyed that there was hardly any music on the radio for long car journeys - and so the idea was born to record an album that was exactly suitable for this purpose."Drive Inn" was produced in September 1983 and is a concept album in which every track revolves around driving a car. Framed by “Drive Inn” and “Drive Out”, you are invited on an acoustic car journey, in which you both rest and linger. This concept was taken up again by Klaus Schulze and Rainer Bloss three years later: “Drive Inn 2” bears Bloss's clear signature here, Klaus Schulze composed the final “Highway” and was primarily responsible for the mix and production. The concept of “Drive inn” accompanied Rainer Bloss until his premature death on December 10th, 2015: “Drive in III”, produced in 1998, was the last album to be released during his lifetime. For the first time, the legendary first two albums in this series are lovingly remastered and re-released after they had not been available for decades.

Klaus Schulze + Sergius Golowin - Lord Krishna von Goloka

Artist: Klaus Schulze & Sergius Golowin
P: 1973 /
1999
An original psych/ folk project directed by the esoteric Swiss writer Sergius Golowin. It is in the mood of Rolf Ulrich Kaiser's « Cosmic couriers » series, including many musicians of the krautrock scene for psychedelic improvisations recorded in three epic pieces. Conceptually this album deals with India mysticism, ecstasy and undirectly with drugs experiences, put in music to create a unearthly, beautiful journey through the cosmos and the hidden side of the Humanity. It contains ravishing, odd, spiritual recitations in German taken from Sergius' personal writings. The musical background is essentially under the direction of the folk duo Witthuser & Westrupp who play here all the acoustic parts (flute, bongos, guitars.) and Klaus Schulze in order to provide a timeless and an exotic touch to the album. With lots of psychedelic, electronic, meditative effects combined to spoken words, the atmosphere of this album delivers a very mysterious, refined 'trip' that can easily haunts the listener, brings him into an other galaxy, far from the materialist preoccupations of our common world. This album is uncomparable, the music is unbelievable and can be considered as the most achieved musical document recorded by Rolf Ulrich Kaiser for his delirious "Cosmic Couriers" adventure. A must of "Cosmic music" and a very nice prog folk effort.

Klaus Schulze - 101, Milky Way

Artist: Klaus Schulze
P:
2024

"101, Milky Way" is a true treasure from Klaus Schulze's musical legacy. It is one of those KS works that absolutely must be presented to the world, and as such it is part of our obligation to share all of his music with you all. And of course, as always, the genesis of this album has its very own story: it all began in late 2008 with a request from a German film production company asking if Klaus might do the soundtrack for a planned film documentary about computer hackers. This eventually turned into a complete KS album, from which the director of the documentary "Hacker - Alex Biedermann" was to use only small parts as soft background music. With "101, Milky Way", the complete work is now available for the first time - a greeting from Klaus' new cosmic home somewhere in the universe.
