Klaus Schulze - Trancefer

Artist: Klaus Schulze
P:
1981/ 2006 / 2016
Originally released in 1981, Trancefer is a one of the most highly regarded recordings of the Klause Schulze catalogue. Featuring Michael Shrieve on percussion and Wolfgang Tiepold on cello, Trancefer is as the title suggests, full of atmospheric metallic textures and cold timbres that sounds as fresh today as it did in it's pre-digital day. Clocking in at only 37 minutes, Revisited have tacked on additional versions of the two tracks from the original alternate mastering formats that were released in low quantities for friends and press that have since become highly sought after collectors items. The definitive version of Trancefer is remastered and housed in a stylish digipak with deluxe booklet with new liner notes and is numbered for collectors.

Klaus Schulze - X

Artist: Klaus Schulze
P: 1978 / 2016

"X" is one mighty and truly legendary studio album from September 1978. On these 6 tracks that were dedicated to Nietzsche, Trakl, Herbert, Bach, Kleist and Ludwig II, Klaus Schulze made clear that he was the master of synthesizer music, after one German magazine counted Schulze second to Michael Rother, in the list of the most popular German musicians.
This re-release of THE classic Klaus Schulze album has some little differences from the formerly available CD version. The former CD version of "X" had the sound altered (not to everybody's delight) and some tracks were a bit shorter than on the original vinyl album. Therefore, the music used for this re-release has been more carefully transferred to digital equipment from the original analogue master tapes. As a twenty-one minute bonus track, there is a remarkable concert version of 'Ludwig' called "Objet D'Louis", played in September 1978 during a concert by KS together with a classical orchestra.
The line-up for the "X" album was : Klaus Schulze (Big Moog, PPG Synthesizer and Sequencer, Mini Moogs, ARP Odyssey, Korg Poly Synthi, Poly Moog, EMS Synthi A, Mellotron, Tom Toms on "Friedemann Bach", Tom Toms and a cymbal on "Heinrich Von Kleist"), Harald Grosskopf (drums), Wolfgang Tiepold (Cello on "Heinrich Von Kleist") and B. Dragic (solo violin on "Friedemann Bach").

Klaus Schulze's U.S.O. - Privee

Artist: Klaus Schulze
P:
2000/ 2016
Originally released 2000 as part of the strictly limited and long exhausted (wooden) boxset “Contemporary Works”. U.S.O. are Razoof Lear aka Uwe Lehr, Klaus Schulze and Olli Finken aka O’Finken: not a permanent group, but a loose studio session turn, comprising of two members of the Cologne DJ/musician-collective “Solar Moon System” (SMS) and Klaus Schulze. A circle of friends, allowing a look through the keyhole for the listener – to a spontaneous and inspirational performing electronic theater of improvisation, in which some grinding synthesizer pads, pounding guitars and e-drum-patterns produce maximum dramatic effect.
Less is more. Tension is created in the syntheses of Ambient, Dub, Trance and Hip Hop, through the art of simplicity. Space is created between the notes, the instruments and the musicians in which even the smallest details develop into something hypnotic and fascinating which draws you on and leaves an inner labyrinthine complexity which stays in your head long after the notes have stopped.

Klaus Schulze's Wahnfried - Miditation

Artist: Klaus Schulze
P: 1986 / 2012
Remastered
"Wahnfried" is actually a side project for Klaus Schulze. Schulze has offered a couple of reasons why the Wahnfried project. One is that it gives him a chance to collaborate with other artists, although he has done that on Schulze albums as well. The other is that it gives him a chance to explore different musical territories, which it definitely has. Wahnfried's first few efforts were in a more "rock" vein, while the last three covered techno territory. This one however, sounds like a mixture of a few earlier Klaus Schulze albums, and probably would have fit under his own name. Track 1 is with Steve Jollife (flute) and starts with synths and flute, reminding me of Edgar Froese's "Stuntman" album. After a few minutes the sequencer comes on, and the middle piece of the track sounds like "Trancefer", with flute instead of cello. Track 2 starts off with "Wahnfried 1883" (from "Timewind") type ambience, when a "Body Love" sequence starts to bubble, mixed with Michael Shrieve-ish percussion, although he doesn't play on this album. Fans of early 80's Klaus Schulze should really like this, as it sounds more "Schulzian" than one would expect, coming under the Wahnfried name.

Klaus Schulze's Wahnfried - Trance Appeal

Artist: Klaus Schulze
P: 1996/ 2007
Produced & mixed by Klaus Schulze.
Composed, played & arranged by Richard Wahnfried & Jörg Schaaf.

KDM describes it: “Marooned” (13:12) is a track which I received from Klaus a few years after "Trance Appeal". It was part of twelve CD-Rs full of studio recordings by Klaus (and guests), planned for another set release that later became the five (or six) CD set “Contemporary Works 2".
The present bonus track is a little part from the fifty percent of then unreleased music. On both sessions (the orginal TRANCE APPEAL as well as on the bonus) Klaus is joined by Joerg Schaaf, and both sessions were indeed designated for Klaus’ “Wahnfried” project and albums.

Pete Namlook + Klaus Schulze + Bill Laswell - Dark Side of the Moog VI

Artist: Pete Namlook, Klaus Schulze & Bill Laswell
P: 1997/ 2003
AW 029

After Pete moved to his new studio the choice was easy which project would be the first to start a new era in FAX production with. Klaus Schulze was asked and didn`t hesitate to come to the small town at the Mosel river (144 KM away from Peter`s homebase Frankfurt). The recording sessions took place and the features (as well as the difficulties) of a new studio created a life on their own. What came out is a recording that shows the aspects of vintage space music combined with the innovations of today to a further creation of Electronic Fusion Music.

Pete Namlook + Klaus Schulze - Dark Side of the Moog 5-8 (5CD Set)

Artist: Pete Namlook & Klaus Schulze
P: 1994 / 2016
LTD 5 CD Set

Complex re-release of the most remarkable and worldwide sought afterSeries The Dark Side Of The Moog by German electronic pioneers Klaus Schulze and Pete Namlook (aka Peter Kuhlmann) in three slip lid boxsets, each with 5 CDs, incl. bonus material and new linernotes. The second box contains Vol. 5 to Vol. 8 and a Bonus CD with 30 minutes. Their relationship between Klaus and Pete and the exchange of ideas was unorthodox from the beginning of their co-operation, in that they rarely met personally. The most remarkable contacts they had were outside of their studios, for instance their concert of April 1999 at the Jazz Festival in Hamburg , which was released as an edited version on 'Dark Side Of The Moog, Vol.8' (will be released in the second Boxset) - the interplay and chemistry between them is clearly evident, and it becomes even clearer on the un-edited version of the concert (which will be released as bonus CS on the third boxset). The influence Namlook had on Klaus's music in the middle of the nineties should not be taken lightly, because although Klaus dearly loved those early-analogue elements from his own music, they had become, to an extent, lost. It was Pete who fortified him to go back to the analogue charm of his early albums and it was Pete who supported him in the modification of his analogue instruments, leading finally to the epoch-making Schulze album from 1996 - Are You Sequenced? And so a legendary series of recordings was born. 'Dark Side Of The Moog' grew more or less unplanned to a sprawling, stately-sized series of eleven volumes recorded between 1994 and 2008, only ending with the early, tragic death of Pete on November 8th 2012.
