Tangerine Dream - Choice

Artist: Tangerine Dream
P: 2008

This special limited EP has been produced on the occasion of the Anglo-American Concerts in November 2008 where TD performed in London, Edinburgh and Los Angeles. Enjoy a freshly re-recorded version of LOVE ON A REAL TRAIN from the movie "Risky Business" as well as a newly re-recorded version from the track SCRAPYARD from the movie ""Thief"". This little EP closes with a warm Irish traditional track called SALLY'S GARDEN performed by Linda Spa and arranged by Edgar Froese.
PS: Enjoy this CD with a 15 minutes track while having a cup of tea or coffee with your friends! That's why we call it (mini) CUPDISC!:-)

Tangerine Dream - Cyberjam Collection

Artist: Tangerine Dream
P: 2007 / 2009

First, this record is a MUST HAVE! for any TD fan out there, as there are some really awesome tracks on this release. A few of the songs are remastered songs from previous releases, but there are also a few newcomers. The best track is Iguana, which reminds of Jean Jarre's song "Moon Machine", but here we get electric guitars instead of just punching synth drums (which Jarre used in "Moon Machine") which is really nice to here again! When was the last time you heard Edgar on electric guitar these days on new releases? However, this track is excellent and shows just what TD is all about once again. Now on to the other new tracks. There are four other tracks and they are "Cool Shibuya", "Culpa Levis", "Forth Worth runway One", and last "Order of the Ginger Grid" and all of them takes us back to TD's heydays somewhere around the late 70's early 80's. They remind a lot of the Logos & Force Majeur albums. They are just that good! So, if you're into the Logos stuff and/or early 80's TD then this record is a must have, even though we already heard the other remastered songs from earlier 90's albums.
Listen to this record at 5 pm when the afternoon sun falls noiseless on the carpet of your private flat - past, present and future will melt to that what really happens: That very moment when time seems to be absent nothing can disturb you. It's just consciousness and sound that could be more than the sum of yourself. Sounds crazy? True, because it's so close to reality - your reality.
PS: All tracks on this compilation are completely remastered!

Tangerine Dream - Cyclone

Artist: Tangerine Dream
P: 1978/ 1985
Although yet again Tangerine Dream had a member playing flute, the sound of Tangerine Dream Anno Domini 1978 did not resemble their previous recordings. The compositions on "Cyclone", which was recorded in early 1978, are more aggressive than ever, more rock-oriented, while still complex and touching. The album was a shock for the electronic community. Ever since the audience has been divided - for "Cyclone" is a very controversial album. The attitude has been: love it, or hate it. Most of the audience objected the introduction of vocals, and even the essence of the Joliffe lyrics was objectionable to most. Still, the album is very coherent - it might be even christened a concept album, the expression we usually associate with Pink Floyd. Perhaps it's not a coincidence, for the first two tracks slightly resemble the older songs by that famous British group. The resemblance is slight, for the vocals are unique, while the overall impression is that of originality. The album withstood the flow of time, and is still considered among the very best that the band ever conceived. This is also due to the multiinstrumental fugue of 'Madrigal Meridian', the last and the longest, purely instrumental composition on the album. There, the excellence of the musicians shows and we cannot help but admire the perfection with which the track was recorded and performed. Just like in the old times of "Stratosfear", the composition is multithreaded, albeit much more dynamic - it features melodies, ostinata, solos of various instruments interlaced together in the fugue. This is the work of genius, indeed.
