Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear

Artist: Tangerine Dream
P: 1976/ 1995
Consisting of four parts, Stratosphere reworked the Tangerine Dream trademark sound--a heady mix of electric guitar, drum, and assorted other electronic instruments-- into a form more readily available to those new to the genre than their previous works. A rich blend of racing sequences, dramatic chord structures, and a stranger-than-strange bluesy treatment of a track called "3 am at the Border of the Marsh from...." A surreal experience indeed.
This was the last Tangerine Dream release to feature long time associate Peter Baumann, who left the band a year later.

Tangerine Dream - Summer in Nagasaki (Japan)

Artist: Tangerine Dream
P: 2007 / 2009
Here the Japan version.
HiQualityCD. Tangerine Dream Eastgate Era collection vol.1.
Tangerine Dream "Summer In Nagasaki" is the second part of the so-called "Five Atomic Seasons".
The compositions reflect the experiences Mr. H. T. - an 82 year old Japanese business man - made during the time of the atomic bomb dropping in summer 1945 in Japan. This dramatic incident coincided with the relationship to his early love - his student fellow named Ayumi - who had no chance to survive that horrible attack. H. T. was so heavily shocked that he decided to abandon the world by going into a monastery. The music - written as one long track of 54 minutes - dramatically describes a part of his life and destiny.
The music is more in the old TD style, which was not heard for a long time.

Tangerine Dream - Supernormal - The Australian Concerts 2014 (3er CD + Book)

Artist: Tangerine Dream
P: 2014

20.000 miles from Vienna to Down Under and return. Enjoying a marvelous calm flight with Qantas and Emirates, crossing the outback and the rainforest up to Cairns very north of Australia. Alright, TD did again one of their little adventure tours. What does this all has to do with music? All and everything, because it does reflect our state of consciousness while traveling. The band’s new line-up, who gave their first concerts of ‘The Quantum Years’ Down Under, can be heard with the new bandmate Ulrich Schnauss. Of course it was too early to give ‘The Quantum Years’ musically the full speed. Also the final use of the new experimental technology, which is ready to go for Europe next year, could not have been completely set up because of some astronomical cargo costs. But please here is a little note for those fans who always want TD to invent the wheel the second time on each of their new recordings – we´re still humans!

You will hear the big pipe organ of the Melbourne Town Hall played by Edgar and Thorsten, as well as some new instruments played by Hoshiko. The whole atmosphere will be different because of the new line-up, even if you will hear some of the well-known TD tunes.
