The music once again sweeps from mysterious abstract sounds reminiscent of some alien landscape - and comparable to TANGERINE DREAM's early album "Alpha Centauri" - to fast ratcheting sequencers, drum machines and lead guitar.All the "MODULAR SESSIONS" CD's are created in his London studio by MARK JENKINS from long improvisations on keyboards, software and hardware synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers including both MIDI and Eurorack modules, extended or overdubbed with contributions by outstanding electronic music artists from around the world.JOHN CHRISTIAN creates the impressive, swirling opening for "On The Orientation and Magnitude of the Black Hole Spin In Galactic Nuclei" which at 11.25 is the shortest track on the album. John's own band Air Sculpture also has a new release on their own label this month ;Landing on the Green Planet" at 18.45 and the epic "Journey Thru The 7th Galaxy" at 41.32, both originally created in a more basic form for download sale alongside prolific Dutch synthesist BERT HÜLSHOFF, originally working as Phrozenlight. Bert uses highly processed guitar for ambient textures alongside classic analog and digital synthesizers.Completing the lineup is HANNAH CHAPPELL, whose classical style cello playing in the duo CELLISTICA is here processed with filters, delays and ring modulators into unidentifiable, strangely organic textures. There are no download or streaming options for the "MODULAR SESSIONS" CD releases, with all CD copies individually numbered and limited to 100 per volume.

This is a compilation of unreleased tracks from all the artists of the Manikin Label.
Another decade has passed. Manikin Records has now been in existence for 30 years. A fact that I would not have thought possible 30 years ago. But this fire is still burning. Making music with electronic sound generators, together with my friends in four very different music projects: Broekhuis, Keller & Schönwälder, Fanger & Schönwälder, Filter Coffee and Control Room. Again, Raughi Ebert, Lutz-Graf-Ulbrich and Thomas Kagermann were in on it. And then there were two productions by musician friends in the past decade: Menzman and Pyramid Peak. The result is another CD with previously unreleased recordings by musicians who released music on Manikin Records between 2012 and 2022. Take a journey through the electronic sound world of Manikin Records.
I thank very many people who have accompanied me on this long journey from 1992 until today and will continue to do so. Without you, all this would never have been possible. The journey continues....
