In principle, we would not need to take any psychedelic drug, as we already have the capability to produce it inside our brain (including the pineal gland), in form of the so called Dimethyltryptamine (DMT). The question is if music, or other sensorial stimulation (such as particular colors, light pulsations, odors) can trigger the production of DMT in our brain.
Of course, that would be an hallucinatory state. But we don't know if through that we simply go out of our ordinary reality or if we enter into "another reality" (from the reference point of consciousness).
I think that some music - such as particular sound effects, chords, melodies or rhythms - can trigger this. I believe it does.
So, I have been composing these (mostly improvised) tracks just thinking of this, and also of other things such as UFOs, ghosts, etc.
More and more, I realize that the reason why classic electronic musicians use sequencers is the same reason why shamans in the forest play Tam-Tam drums. Probably, particular rhythms are able to trigger sometimes altered states of consciousness. So get ready: in this album there are no ambient atmospheres but almost only sequencer-driven rhythms.
Come take a trip with me.
