This is a collection of musical pieces that I composed during the last 10 years inspired by Near Death Experience (NDE). Songs 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 11, 12 are entirely new ones, while the older ones have never been published before. So far, I never had such kind of experience, and yet I have been thinking a lot about this issue, even if not from a religious or metaphysical point of view. Something is telling me that so-called “afterlife” is an inevitable evolutionary biophysical process, in which “the caterpillar turns into a butterfly”. In fact, together with my wife Susan, I am writing just now a book on this issue (which will be finished hopefully in May). I have a scientific hypothesis about this and I am intimately convinced that Science will give an answer eventually. It deals with the Higgs field (and its boson) and its relation with consciousness, with dark matter and still unknown particles, with quantum mechanics and the entanglement mechanism, and finally with plasma physics. But it deals also with "alien intelligence" from other dimensions (tracks 11 and 12 are inspired by this).
As this issue is an important part of human consciousness as well as of music, I wanted to ask myself: “What comes out from the music when I think of the possibility of afterlife?” This is the result, so far. I do not know yet if my synthesizers answered correctly, or if a better answer will come in the future. I invite many other electronic musicians to try this experiment. Maybe a much more complete and advanced electronic equipment offers a better degree of freedom, or maybe being able to “catch” this theme with music depends more on the mere musical aspect than on the availability of exotic synth sounds.
Many persons who experienced NDE report a sort of “celestial music”. I am wondering if this music is already written inside our brain and if this information can be already transposed in music during this life.
The style is clearly electronic, with only some moments that are typical of the sequencer-like Berlin School. It is not really ambient or meditative music, and even less new age. However, there are many voices/strings tapestries, with an ample use of Omnisphere and of Oberheim OB-X sounds. No, it is not “music out of time”. It is music fully inserted in spacetime, speaking of a dimension where beings are made of some form of matter (is that one dark matter?) inserted in their space and time dimension.
