David Wright - Stranger Days
Artist: Robert Fox, Klaus Hoffmann-Hook & David Wright
P: 2018

While it was originally intended to be straightforward compilation (and is listed as a Best of Vol 3 in some places), it evolved into a journey; a journey through sound and styles reflecting the luminaries of the electronic music genre whose music influenced David and shaped his music since his first album in 1989.
So as a result, it includes a lot of new and previously unreleased music alongside re-recordings of a handful of tracks, so ‘Stranger Days’ is a retrospective in terms of influences and styles.
It has been a labour of love, taking 18 months to complete. It incorporates music from live performances, studio sessions (in some instances overlooked and forgotten!) and reworked tracks and remixes.does contains a lot of new and previously unreleased music. The epic 60 minute title track, for example, is a studio re-imagining of new electronic music originally recorded live at E-Scape 2015 and previously unreleased studio recordings. There are other new tracks recorded between 2012 and 2018, some featuring the beautiful voice of Carys, alongside re-workings of older (some might say obscure?) tracks like ‘Colours of the Night’,  ‘Glass Mountains’ (also featuring Carys) and more. It also features previously unreleased music with Robert Fox and Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock.

Bioscope (Rothery + Quaeschning) - Gento (CD + Blu Ray)
Artist: Steve Rothery + Thorsten Quaeschning
P: 2025
Bioscope is the highly anticipated collaborative project from guitar maestro Steve Rothery, founding member of Marillion, who has sold millions of albums worldwide and helped define the sound of progressive rock with chart-topping records — and from electronic visionary Thorsten Quaeschning, musical director of Tangerine Dream, credited on over 100 album releases and known for his acclaimed work on major film and game soundtracks. The word ‘Bioscope’ comes from the Greek ‘bios’ meaning life and ‘skopeein’ meaning to look; prior to the invention of cinema, it meant ‘a view or survey of life’. And that’s what Bioscope is about. The first album to emerge from this project is called Gentō, named after the Japanese term for “magic lantern”, a still-image projection system. It started life in early 2020 and after several five-day trips to Berlin over the years, and a few days in Steve Rothery’s home studio, it was finally ready to be mixed and mastered. Each of the five instrumental tracks takes it’s inspiration from man's endearing fascination with the moving image. They weave together Rothery’s emotive, melodic guitar work with Quaeschning’s expansive soundscapes, creating a mesmerizing journey through light and darkness, memory and imagination, featuring an amazing performance by Elbow’s drummer Alex Reeves. With soaring guitar solos that evoke classic progressive rock to hypnotic sequencer-driven passages reminiscent of Berlin School electronica, the album flows like a soundtrack to an unmade film.
Each of the five instrumental tracks is inspired by man's fascination with the moving image. The music ranges from impressive guitar sounds reminiscent of classic progressive rock to rhythmic sequencer passages in the style of the Berlin School.
