Tales From Earth is a completely satisfying album that stands among Peter Baldwin’s best work. In striking contrast to most of his other recent releases, these are comparatively brief sketches. An interwoven series of stories and moods, joyful, melancholy and reflective, each connecting seamlessly to create a fully-realized musical portrait. This album exhibits a wider palate of emotions and a gentleness more prominent than in The Rosen Corporation’s previous work. Favorite track: The Vast Ocean.
