This is from 2006 and is enigmatically labelled "Paul solo & Phil" although it's clearly a regular JIC session. It might be I'd done more preparation of P3 sequences and sounds prior to Phil arriving as I sometimes did. The long, freeform improvisations seem quite pleasing to me, especially as, again, I don't remember them all that well.
JIC started out as Paul's secret project many years ago but had no soul until Phil brought it.
Now Phil has a new cosmic address, all we have are these recordings.

This one has different versions of some tracks that have appeared elsewhere but it seems a nice collection to me and it's getting to the point where I struggle to compare them anyway. It doesn't help that I randomly think of new titles for some. Still, my archive pile isn't getting any smaller. If memory serve me right (and it often doesn't) this was probably one afternoon sometime around the time of the Harmonia festival in Spain.

I think Phil's guitar sounds especially lovely in this. RIP mate.

This was our only ever gig in London (2005) and it was wonderful apart from the mad 'get all your gear out or we keep it' insanity at around 6am when we were all dead on our feet.
We had our own room for chillage and played to Steve Hillage, eventually noodling non-stop for around 7.5 hours. We met some brilliant folks such as Oojami for the first time and bathed in a rare glow of adulation. Well, it's rare for me. Eternal thanks to Steve Kundalini and his crew for having us. I'll remember it as one of the best gigs I ever took part in.
The band were Phil Smillie, Andy Mason & Paul Nagle and this version is Andy's Mix that I now, inevitably, prefer. I added a bonus track from the Paul Mix too but one day I might trawl through the whole lot again and see if there are other gems missed out.
Oh, I tamed this mix slightly as the original is a bit 'in your face' maxed out which I'm less keen on these days. Hope it sounds OK

More of a band feel to this one, pretty spontaneous day of music-making. Undercover JIC agent Bammy joined us adding bass and, I think, percussion (admittedly I'm typing this without having listened to it lately). An excellent day anyway!
There's at least one other session with the three of us that I'll be digging out for a future archive release. In fact I found some more stuff just now by accident.

Live at Brudenell Social Club, recovered from mp3 and presented as a one-off Binar/JIC sesh played live in Leeds on the named date. Forgotten until now I have been trawling through old gigs of late and realising I've not put out all that all much live stuff.
