Journeys’ is another masterful electronic music creation by Divine Matrix. This continues the UK synthesist’s unique vision of ambient, electronic space music. From the opening base pulse of ‘Blue Horizon’, with delightful sequences and catchy rhythm, the listener is hooked. ‘Fast Train to Tokyo’ continues to captivate with it glorious rhythm and base. Once again it’s underpinned by memorable sequences driving the track forward. The next three tracks slow things right down, taking the listener into more contemplative, ambient style music. They are no less involving though, and titles like ‘Gliding on Thermals’ and ‘River from Source to Sea’ are as evocative as the titles imply. The tempo picks up again with ‘One small Step’ and the exquisite musical odyssey continues with gentle rhythmic motion through ‘Walkabout’ and ‘A Path Less Trodden’ through to ‘Journeys End’. Each track is a wonderful, colourful vignette that confirms Divine Matrix’s’ status as a purveyor of quality electronic music that is both modern it style and technique, yet which also cleverly recalls the classic 80’s style of Tangerine Dream and other luminaries.

‘Rise of the Sand Gods’ is a very different electronic music release from Divine Matrix. Every album is a new and unique journey, seemingly better than what has come before.
The music is spellbinding, with a wonderful eastern feel…occasionally ethereal male and female vocals punctuate the mix. But this is an album firmly rooted in atmospheric and rhythmic electronic music. Moody undertones and a sense of mystery pervade throughout, and there are hints of Tangerine Dream circa ‘Exit’. But overall, one gets more a sense of a Hans Zimmer style soundtrack. The album manages to finely balances the sequenced elements with the ambient and atmospheric interludes, giving a clever mix of light and shade. ‘Rise of the Sand Gods’ is brimming with inventive and catchy musical themes, peppered with great sequencing and rhythmic motion. Beautifully recorded, in this reviewers mind the best Divine Matrix album to date. Sensational!

Indeed, Divine Matrix’s continues to confirm his status as a purveyor of quality electronic music that is both modern in style and technique, yet which also cleverly recalls the classic 80’s style of Tangerine Dream and other luminaries.

"New Day" contains 11 tracks of soothing and drifting electronica that features superbly played piano and acoustic guitar themes over the most chilled of rhythms. There is a warmth here that is almost sensual; melancholy yet uplifting; contemplative yet always involving; beautiful but not sugary. "New Day" is one of those albums that will be on repeat play as you discover the wonderful depth and subtlety in Steve's emotional and dreamlike music. The delicate, melodic piano themes are infectious and will gently caress you, putting you under a spell that will find you gently tapping your feet as the chilled rhythms come in to play. Whilst there are clearly nods to the likes of Mike Oldfield, Ludovico Einaudi and Debussy, "New Day" remains an original album with a clear identity that is both beautiful and incredibly rewarding.
