Another excellent album from French composer Sylvain Carel. As with his previous outings, ‘Heritage’ is highly evocative, touching on various cultures, in particular the exotic and beautiful east, while never becoming ‘world music’. There is a soothing quality with great synth and orchestral passages, beautiful vocal textures and acoustic additions with uptempo moments that are full of rhythmic punch! ‘Heritage’ is funded by the artist himself through AD Music. It’s a very focused effort, and will clearly appeal to fans of melodic instrumental music, whether it be electronic, new age or space music.
