“The Darkness Between”contains three parts, part one of which is almost half an hour in duration. After a long intro of swelling keyboards and space sounds, thrumming piano hails the inevitable shift in tempo which is started off by sequencing in the Tangerine Dream style.
Quiet soloing holds the listener’s attention. Part 2 again starts slowly and the ambient influences are retained during the complete track.
Finally, part 3 features very fast sequencing where the duo carry on like madmen on their keys, arriving at the finish completely out of breath.
