Sonic tapestries carved out of sound and circuitry tapping deep into the emotive hinterlands far distant from the cold bastions of our concrete and steel enclave's. Subdued synthetic textures encapsulated environmental meanderings coerce one another within subtle rhythmic oscillations. A mention of the name Gregory Kyryluk will usually conjure thoughts of the Alpha Wave Movement style of ambient and rhythmic electronic music. However, with the release of the sophomore album Essence, Biome is set to become a firm favorite in the field of ambient electronic music. From the very start, Essence creates an atmosphere of floating weightless in space, with electronic string-like sounds creating an environment to enable sparkling streaks to appear and then disappear. Some gentle bell-like sounds will appear at times, tantalizingly close to creating a rhythmic backdrop of sequencing, but never taking full hold of the situation and releasing at just the right time for some atmospheric chords to re-establish their ambient dominance.
