His artistryand understanding of organinc inner-space music is alive on this understated and gently intense flowing soundscape. Created to support his own psychoactive journeys, it creates a warm and shadowy nest to curl up within. This is among Steve Roachs favorite Alio Die solo releases.

"Quot Dies Resurgo" expands to new dimensions the excursus with medieval soundscapes, by acoustic and electronic sounds that characterized the trilogy of Castles sonorisation’s series (Aura seminalis/Tempus rei / Horas tibi serenas). In the perennial search for the source, the sound unfolds, and the intersection of the modulation of the sound waves is now enriched by arpeggios and reflections, suspensions that open space-time doors and possible exits. In "Every day I rise again" It is time itself that meditates and aspires to ancient places, leading gracefully through mysterious atmospheres where the places seem to resonate to tell of human feeling, which refracts and crystallizes in the sound wave.
Another album from Stefano coursing in the veins of medieval times. There is something exceptional in his music, one of a kind, that is not visible at first glance. Its experimental nature requires state of mind where these strange melodies starting to resonate and a world opens with its labyrinthine beauty. Beautiful cover art as well, and I can only wait for a physical release like for precious book from centuries waiting to open and release its uplifting memories from the old lives again.(Marcin Olejniczak)

Beautiful ambient sounds and textures which provide a thought provokingatmosphere. Very mysterious moods which shifts throughtout the different tracks presented on this CD. If you enjoy the ambient work by artist such as VidnaObmana and Zoviet France, then you'll most likely groove on this as well. A subtle power and features some excellent aural work.

This is a collection of sound experiments made by sitar and zither sessions, the acoustic recordings were edited and looped into imaginary soundscapes that bring the listener at the border of stasis, in a dreams-like state. Majestic and delicate, abstract and resonant on a background of silence, the acoustic sounds melt by the electronic effects are transformed into different vast and open spaces.  
A mysterious and dark album for time travelers!

This new CD contains unrealized material recorded by Alio Die in the year 2001, mostly around the time of the winter solstice. The tracks are characterized from theediting of old recordings produced in Milan in 1990, with Massimo Iadarola playsguitar and effects.
The recordings were integrated with radionoise from an old Valvular Model.
Some new sounds of flutes and percussions were added from Gianfranco Cualbu.
The recordings were completed with a new track displays zither, muezzin voicesfrom the shirt wave space and field recordings made by Alio Die in Notre Dame,Paris Sept 2002.
The sound atmosphere of this release is close in some way of the really firstCDs by Alio Die, with a light electronic taste, in the feeling of the dark thatpass before a new dawn.

Alio Die 30 years after the release of 'Under an Holy Ritual' celebrates with this new album its adherence to the source. 'Spirals of light' is like an albedo, a process of rebirth from its own ashes, which re-emerges from the depths in softness and beauty. The colored nebulae give way to a riot of color, to the mighty explosion of life in all its range, regardless of the vertigo of emptiness and shadow, the sky is torn by swords of light.
The sounds of psaltery and zither build and stratify harmonies together with a colorful spectrum of vibrational acoustic sounds: whistles, water, rattle, khen, shruti box. The music flows and welcomes us into its realm, the five songs are the gateway to soar beyond the notes in a space that transcends and creates.

Such exquisite complexity in this drone world by Stefano Musso (ALIO DIE). But, then again, they always are.    
What an experience it would be to follow Stefano on one of his creations, and watch him meticulously stitch together such intricate works. Until that time, however, we'll have to appreciate this drone master from his finished work.

This reissue coincides with the tenth anniversary of Alio Die´s touchstone album, Suspended Feathers. Stefano Musso, the man behind pseudonym, created ambient music more in touch with its originator Brian Eno´s intentions than that of the concurrent "chill room" variant of ambient - beatless, self-effacingmusic that is there to be listened to or to be ignored.
However, whereas Eno chose to create imagined or"impossible" landscapes, Alio Die could be more specific, integratingeasily identifiable natural sounds like running water or trillilng birds. Assuch, he can also claim to have more or less invented "eco[logical] ambient".
Alio Die´s music is vast and organic,slowly expanding, inhaling and exhaling, pulsing quietly with life. And althoughthis is essentially a solo project, with Musso manning the samples,loops,processed tapes and treatments all by himself, he would also seem to begin what has become a long history of collaboration right here. The track "Ruins Garden Drones" incorporates the woodwinds of Gregorio Bardini, whilethe closing track, "Wings of the Firefall" is a full-blown collaboration with kindred spirit Vidna Obmana (who, coincidentally, released his landmark recording "The River of Appearence" the very same year). The latter, with its opening movement featuring a slightly off-kilter "string section", is emotionally majestic, and the entire track, incommon with the rest of the album, is quite simply a thing of great beauty. SuspendedFeathers wasoriginally released in 1996 in a run of 1,000 copies on the Italian luxury labelAmplexus, and has been sold out for years. Now another, newly-founded, Italianlabel, Silentes, does everyone interested in unique cultural utterings a greatservice by making it available anew, now housed in a simple jewel case, with newart but no other bells and whistles, no additional tracks, remixes or videos.They have made available an affordable version of an absolute classic of itsgenre.
Descending Past' was originally projected to become a MCD for the Amplexus serie. But in the meantime I had other tracks recorded in different moments during the last two years. So, I proposed Stefano Gentile to publish a full lenght CD. Vidna Obmana and I composed 'Wings of the firefall' in 1994 after years of collaboration and reciprocal esteem. I'm really satisfied with the results and thank him to have been waiting till now to see it published. 'Ruins garden drones' has been created spontaneously putting together Gregorio Bardini's sonorities and mine."  Alio Die: Sample, loops, processed tapes, ocarina, treatments.

Tempus Rei is further evidence that the ambient artist known as Alio Die is in fact the reincarnation of a very old soul, probably from the High Middle Ages dovetailing into the Renaissance. The matter-of-fact list of devices used to make this extraordinary album - "drones and loops, zither and field recordings" - reveals nothing about the depth and mystery of the two, half-hour long pieces. Stating however as the artist does that it was "celebrated", rather than created, speaks volumes. The first piece features a leitmotif so inherently beguiling that you feel sad and disappointed when it disappears. Happily, a few minutes into the second offering, it slowly reemerges. The entire album isredolent of old, musty wooden beams and fusty, book-lined rooms, as entire collections of ancient instruments appear to have been sampled and woven into this irresistably captivating tapestry. As an added temporal twist, the entire recording features its own, discreet background track of rainy, current-day street sounds, tires whishing by on wet pavement, a heavy, gusting wind casting raindrops at the window. One of the most understated and yet most powerful of Alio Die´s many unforgettable works.

The Russian Label Faria Records have re-released the MCD by ALIO DIE "The Flight of Real Image" (out of stock from a long time), in full lenght version: this is a limited edition in 1000 copies in a special cardboard package with 5 cards, inside the cover. The artwork was released by Hic Sunt Leones in collaboration with the painter Sara Luciani. The tracking list bring together the tracks originally included in the mcd, with two unrealised track with Saffron Wood, a new track with Bruno Sanfilippo, a beautiful acoustic track with Luciano Daini, and other inedits.
Reissue of 'The Flight Of Real Image' MCD, released on Hic Sunt Leones (1993), with six bonus and exclusive tracks. The classical sound of Alio Die is harmoniously combined with his newer musical experiments with zither, salterio, flutes, bells and other instruments. All original material has been carefully re-mastered. Additionally this release comes with 5 artcards showing installations by Italian painter Sara Luciani - this artwork being an integral part of the concept of this album. Ltd x 1000 copies in a special outsize package.
