Schmoelling, Johannes

Schmoelling, Johannes

In the middle of 1979 he was engaged by Edgar Froese directly at the theatre. Edgar Froese – founder of the electronic band TANGERINE DREAM – endeavoured to reform the band again in the classic lineup of three keyboard players. Schmoelling stayed with TANGERINE DREAM until 1985. In the year 2000, Johannes Schmoelling succeeded in founding his own record label, a long time ambition, which came true. For the initial release on Viktoriapark Records, the album "White Out", which had been deleted for 10 years, was released. Added as a bonus track to the 1990-version was a remix by the young artists Ulrich Schnauss and Robert Wässer.

Various Artists - Keep On Dreaming - A Tribute To Tangerine Dream

Artist: Various Artists
P: 2026
The current CD, "Keep On Dreaming," presents tracks by French and German musicians who keep the spirit of Tangerine Dream alive. As you can hear, each musician has found their own way to express themselves with synthesizers, sequencers, and electronic sound generators. What unites them all is their fascination with Tangerine Dream. Just like Tangerine Dream, all the participating musicians create their own dream world: "Keep On Dreaming." It is a particular honor that Johannes Schmoelling, a former member of Tangerine Dream, has contributed a special track to the compilation CD. Johannes Schmoelling explains: "Since my participation in 'Synthfest France' in 2017, the encounters I had with French musicians back then have developed into genuine friendships that continue to this day. A musical collaboration like this CD is therefore only logical. I am all the more pleased that this project is dedicated to the band Tangerine Dream, as I was a member of this band for many years." The CD will be released at Synth Fest in Nantes in April 2026. Further information about the musicians can be found inside the booklet. Keep On Dreaming is a treat for all sequencer enthusiasts.
