From 1980 MYTHOS was only Stephan Kaske, only guest musicians found their way into his own Mythos studio. In this studio "QUASAR" was recorded in 1980, a completely harmonious blend of groove, analog synthie work and Krautrock.  Similar to the former combatants Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze, Kaske had found his way.  A successful way until today. "Quasar" appeared on the Hamburg label Sky Records by Günter Körber, that fit!

'Concrete City' was released in 1978 and showcased 'Mythos' in a new musical context, as was the case one year previously with 'Strange Guys'. Hard rock guitars, rhythmic synthesizer sequences and short songs are vastly different to the spacey music of the first two albums. Stephan Kaske makes more frequent use of the flute, occasionally using this instrument as the lead voice and to provide accents. New technological innovations, such as the talk box, with which the sound of a guitar can be manipulated by the voice, or the introduction of the vocals of a female opera singer, are just as much an integral part of the production as the ever present celestial sections.
'Concrete City' and 'Strange Guys' are 'Mythos' rockiest and most commercial albums.

The only live document of the Krautrock pioneers from West Berlin.
The career of MYTHOS been similar to that of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze, also from West Berlin. They also began working as a rock band in the line up of guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and vocals. Even as they released their first record om the cult label OHR, and they later switched from rock to Elektronic music. Afzer 1979, mastermind Stephan Kaske continued as a soloist under the name of MYTHOS and is even today still successful with his synthesizers on the road.
At the gig in Stagge's Hotel in Osterholz-Scharmbeck in Bremen in March 1976 MYTHOS was still fully in the Krautrock element. The songs of the then fresh album "Dreamlab" formed the foundation, plus additional titles that should never make it to one of the studio albums. They can be heard here for the very first time. Stephan Kaske was even amazed when he learned of the existence of the tape recordings, but agreed after careful listening with a publication. A truly wise decision!
So it is Sireena Records again succeeded in compiling a CD that documents the great pleasure of MYTHOS playing in front of an audience. A historically important musical discovery.

This is a work with fascinating electronic textures, powerful soundscapes and vivid rhythms. These are 12 themes of an impeccable production. The music is an interesting tour through different styles fused within a general structure near to Synth-Pop. The sound is crystal clear and the stereo field is wide like on no other album, even with ordinary stereo headphones. Attention! Please do NOT listen to Surround Sound music in MONO. S.S.-elements can be low or even disappear. Choose "broadband".
The multiple psycho acoustic effects, binaural dummy head recordings and numerous surround elements appear and work best with the equipment adjusted to DOLBY PRO LOGIC(TM), which the majority of fans have available in their hi-fi systems, cars and home cinemas. I conceived, composed and produced this album especially for YOU mobilizing all my technical and musical know-how. Many record companies and producers still ignore the fantastic potential of the Surround Sound technology or simply try to avoid the complexity and the high extra costs. Agreed: the pop- and hit parade stars wouldn't sell less even if their music would be produced in mono. But the Surround Sound-, DOLBY PRO LOGIC8(TM)- and HighTec fans do not want to renounce these futuristic technics therefore. We want to listen to music using to full capacity all the sound and spacious potentials of the fondly hand selected pimped ghetto blasters up to our Surround Sound home cinemas. That’s why here is the second of a new series of MYTHOS albums, offensively and consequently custom-made, matched and fine-tuned to YOUR wishes right from the start of the composition.
