Ron Boots - Area Movement

Artist: Ron Boots
P: 2003

The style on “Area Movement” is quite melodically, sometimes even symphonic. In this case, “Area Movement” sometimes bares some of the same fine atmospheres of his early albums. The first track “The Grand Banks” already shows it. Starting with a soft piano part, this piece really “rocks”. It features Harold van der Heijden on drums. Also, the sequences are excellent again. Another great track is "Rapids" in which the sequences somewhat remind of Ron’s masterpiece “Tainted Bare Skin”.

Ron Boots - Backgrounds

Artist: Ron Boots
P: 1994

On this album a great selection of (remixed and upgraded) tracks can be heard which were all taken from his earlier cassettes. Most tracks are inspired by books like Tolkien and Stephen King which gives the whole album a very visual and/or dreamy touch.
According to Ron this CD was the hardest to make. A lot of the original synthesizers were sold so he had to re-create the original feeling with new synths. And as every musician knows: That's Hard!.

Ron Boots - Current

Artist: Ron Boots
P: 2007

This is the remastered version of 2007 with a new cover.
This album was created between October '96 and July '97.

All songs composed by Ron Boots except Close Call; drums by Harold van der Heijden .
Vocals on Close Call by Ron Boots

“Let the Dream continue…”. These words are written by Ron Boots in the booklet of “Current”, his 1997-album and his tenth anniversary of releasing music (of course, he was already making music much longer, as was later proved on his “80’s Box”).
“Current” was an important album for the Dutchman. It came as a follow-up of some rather successful albums and can perhaps be regarded as a “warm-up” for his brilliant album “Tainted Bare Skin” from 1998. Now, again ten years later, “Current” has been carefully remastered by Ron and re-released.
“Current” is a solo-album in the true sense of the word. Where on many other albums Ron is accompanied by guest-musicians, he works alone on “Current”. The only exception are the drums on “Close Call” which are played by Harold van der Heijden. Two things play an important part on “Current”. First of all, the sequences; they are beautifully crafted and long-stretched.
This can already be heard in the masterful opening track “Current part 1” and “Below Paradise (Current part 2)”. The second thing is that Ron experiments some more with rhythms, new sounds and atmospheres.
Rhythm is quite essential in “Ambiguity”, “Close Call” (in which Ron’s voice also can be heard) and “Smiles”. “Alignment” and “Reciprocal” are all about atmosphere and intense warmth.
This new version of “Current” again proves how fresh and innovative Ron’s music was and is. This is an essential album in Ron’s career and in electronic music.

Ron Boots - Cutting Branches

Artist: Ron Boots
P: 1995

Again this album is a remarkable example how electronic music should sound like. Almost immediately the great "Boots" atmosphere is set when the listener actually takes off with the first track "Rumor Control". Powerful sequencers and rhythms go together with great plains of clear sound, solos and effects which made this album a big success in Europe.

Ron Boots - Different Stories and Twisted Tales

Artist: Ron Boots
P: 1993/ 2004

Ron Boots' most successful album. This CD from 2004 offers 75 minutes of dynamic electronic music.
Joining Boots on this release are: Klaus Hoffmann Hoock on guitar, Harold van der Heijden and Guido Negraszus on drums, and Eric van der Heijden.
Even the most discriminating audiophile will be captivated from the onset of this CD. Crystalline keyboards tremble with icy clarity, while majestic drums delineate powerfully engaging rhythms. Sparkling electronic embellishments cavort in a gloriously twilight sky, evoking strong promise for an optimistic sunrise. A thrilling drama permeates this song, reaching deep into the human soul to stir legendary courage and bring such emotions cascading to the surface of the audience's mind. The melodic music is wrought with sinewy disposition tempered with humanitarian sympathy, a masterful fusion of strength and compassion that will delight as equally as it mesmerizes. This initial track lasts for 17 minutes, never once allowing its grandeur to abate or diminish for an instant.
The presence of Hoofmann Hoock's rock-styled guitar on the piece "The Call" elevates Boots' customary stratospheric ecstasy to a transcendental scale, injecting fiery riffs to the already vigorous sound. Enormous chords fill the air, creating a glimmering tapestry laced with searing guitar threads that make this a highly memorable and gratifying sonic experience.
All of the tracks on this release exude brilliant compositional talent. Boots' ability to combine atmospheric sensibilities with epic proportion is unparalleled and thoroughly delightful. Few contemporary electronic composers achieve this combination with such ease and rewarding results.

Ron Boots - Dreamscape

Artist: Ron Boots
P: 1990/ 2003

"Dreamscape" was Ron Boots' first album to be released on CD.
With this CD release way back in 1990, Ron was voted the best newcomer of the year at Schwingungen on the radio.
This is the 2003 remaster with the bonus track "Rivers 2003"
We're talking pure unadulterated electronic music, not ambient nor any current-day incarnation of the genre. No, this is music back from the days when artists like Ray Lynch, Suzanne Ciani, Jean Michel Jarre and Boots himself released albums that celebrated the unique musical qualities of synthesizers themselves. And does this album perfectly capture the magic, drama, joy and mystery that albums like Equinoxe, Deep Breakfast, and Seven Waves filled
All tracks composed, played and produced by Ron Boots. 1989 to 1990.
Except for "Rivers 2003". No extra parts were add to this version.
Track 7 is played by Ron Doesborg, Bas Broekhuis, Eric v.d. Heijden, Wollie (4.46) and Ron Boots during an all night session in 1990 in Ron's living room.
Text by Reina de Jong, spoken by Desiree Derksen in Esperanto.
