Moonbooter - World of Apes 2 5.1 Surround DVD

Artist: Moonbooter
P: 2011
Rather exhausted I finished the prologue of the “World of Apes”-Trilogy beginning of 2010. “World of Apes 1” took a lot out of me…more than expected. Questions for a sequel came up which I couldn’t answer for a long time. I needed some distance to the finished album. In the course of time I learned, that this way of dealing with the “nuclear madness” inspired the audience which was supported by the catastrophe in Fukushima in March 2011. So I started collecting musical sketches about themes that touched me and that were relevant in my own youth. Pershing, Tschernobyl, StarWars, The day after, WarGames, Anti-Nukes-Movements and many more dominated my nuclear memory of that time. After I finished my album “Cosmologica” in December 2010 I decided to start the work on “World of Apes 2”. It was exciting from the very beginning.
As most themes from WoA1 happened prior to my birth I experienced the 70th to 90th consciously. This is reflected in the music which seems to sound lighter. For the first time since years the album was finished without advance warning. Even 4 songs had to be left out due to shortage of space. Summa summarum: “World of Apes 2” is a diversified, sometimes rhythmic, but all over coltish piece of art full of modern electronic music. Pop-parts are intended. This is a concept album. Terrific sound guaranteed. Vocals from myself. Music without pointer finger. But with loads of feelings. Plus the usual dosage of Climax. No contemporary witness-samples this time. Simply moonbooter. What is the opposite of boring? Just listen.

Moonbooter - World of Apes 5.1 Surround DVD

Artist: Moonbooter
P: 2010
"World of Apes" is Moonbooters 7th album. For the production of “World of Apes” he collected many interesting, historical sound recordings and put them into a musical correlation. The experiences from many of his productions from the last 25 years helped him realising his idea. Moreover, he sampled tonal material from these historical recordings and played them as alienated instruments. This created a very special authenticity of the sounds.
Additionally, the remaining nuclear radiation of a true Trinitite of the first nuclear explosion on July 16th 1945 had been measured with a contamination meter and the amplitude had been transcribed to musical-data. Based on random timings of the radioactive degeneration he established quantification patterns after hours of test-measurements and transferred them on sequencer-patterns, rhythms etc. Sound-technically “World of Apes” is at highest level.  Various modern synthesizers but also vintage-devices from the past 30 years have been used. These have been recorded with the most modern technologies and completed with gently used natural instruments and affectionately finished. As usual for all moonbooter productions, he put much emphasis on mixing of the music. Those who enjoy this album with adequate equipment will realise the multiple small sound details which are best audible with ear-phones. This album is, as already mentioned, a very personal album that should be thought-provoking.

Naoki Kenji - Denshi Ongaku DVD

Artist: Naoki Kenji
P: 2002
Elektrolux 1110000dvd
Elektrolux is proud to present its first ever artist album to be released on CD and DVD at the same time. Japanese-german sound wizard Naoki Kenji started his career as a keyboard player in Tokio and Osaka, deeply inspired by electronica heros such as Yellow Magic Orchestra und Riuchi Sakamoto. With countless releases in Japan, Europe and the US on labels such as Sony or Universal/US (including a nomination for the grammy award), Kenji has a great experience as a producer, composer, DJ and remixer (e.g. for Al Jarreau and Ivan Lins). ‚Denshi Ongaku’ is not only a marvellous musical statement, but also proves Naoki’s ambitions as a video artist - his well received works for cult like tv program ‚Flowmotion’ speak for itself. Dreamy harmonic textures meet up with organic downbeat grooves, while beautiful string motifs collide with sounds from outer space. Naoki Kenji is an innovator and electronica genius in the deepest sense of the word, and with his outstanding production skills and songwriting abilities he fuses different styles to form unique emotional and melodious landscapes. ‚Denshi Ongaku’ is taking a loan from Electronica, Jazz, Breakbeats and Soundtrack Music to create a breathtaking swinging hybrid beyond the usual styles of modern lounge discretionary. A milestone release for Elektrolux!
By using a professional Dolby Digital 5.1 Mix, the complete impact of Naoki´s music turns it into an unforgettable experience. The DVD also contains two bonus tracks which haven´t been released yet.A milestone release for Elektrolux!

Patrick O'Hearn - Earthscapes DVD

Artist: Patrick O'Hearn + Suzanne Ciani
P: 2000
The visual equivalent of environmental sounds to soothe away those after-work tensions. Musically accompanied by the likes of Tangerine Dream, the superbly photographed, time-lapse footage of these pieces encapsulates the majesty of such locales as Monument Valley. Any fan of film Westerns, and John Ford Westerns in particular, will be thrilled with this portion of the disc, since Monument Valley has played such an indispensable part in American Westerns. You might be justified in suspecting this to be merely the filmed backdrop for a friendship card, or "Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy." But the award-winning photography of David Fortney makes this truly breathtaking. Other places worthy of time-lapse footage include the Canadian Rockies, Niagara Falls, Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevada Mountains, Death Valley, and the Nevada High Deserts.
If you love time-lapse photography, this is a surreal and mesmerizing experience-truly a piece of art & beauty. The music is wonderful making it a stimulating music video of nature, light, and weather.

Paul Haslinger - Planetary Traveller (DVD)

Artists: Paul Haslinger
P: 1997
This is a lovely movie both in the computer-generated graphics and accompanying music, but suffers from a disjointed feeling. An accompanying "making of..." feature describes how the various planets were created by computer animators around the world who never met -- they just corresponded by email.
The result is just a series of gorgeous planetscapes with saucers and "probes" gliding over them, tied together (if at all) by a wispy story of aliens searching for a legendary gateway planet. One almost has the feeling that the story was forced upon a collection of already existing scenes.
The story itself is ponderous, new age philosophy and the gentleman that produced Planetary Traveller seems to have thought it an epoch making project.
With the music created by Paul Haslinger it is the perfct mixture. He blends symphonic with electronic means.

Here the last copy! Second hand, but very good condition!

Pollard, Daniel + Booth - IV DVD

Artist: Pollard, Daniel & Booth
P: 2010
At the end of march 2010, PDB allowed an "outside" camera operator into the studio for the first time to film the sessions for what would ultimately end up as PDB IV. The raw footage was taken away and edited by Phil Booth, the result is a film that takes a peek into the private world of PDB at work in the studio.
All compositions by PDB except the themes from "The Call" and "Ricochet", included as a playful and respectful nod to Tangerine Dream.

Rick Wakeman - Access all Areas (DVD + CD)

Artist: Rick Wakeman
P: 2015
Deluxe two disc (CD + PAL/Region 2 DVD) live release. The concert was originally recorded for broadcast on ITV and released here for the first time. The high quality recording has been remastered and are featured both on a DVD and audio CD alongside extended notes, new interviews, imagery and memorabilia. Keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman has enjoyed at least three careers - early-Seventies sessionman, the Caped Crusader of progressive giants Yes and solo star responsible for such epic albums as The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Journey To The Centre Of The Earth and The Myths And Legends Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The Round Table. He's also written books and become a well-known small-screen personality. This DVD and CD package of a 1990 broadcast in the Bedrock TV series combines many of these facets, featuring titles from all his biggest solo sellers in a virtuoso performance. Backed by Tony Fernandez (drums) and David Paton (bass), Rick gives his nine-keyboard rig the ultimate workout and clearly enjoys himself: 'It was good fun at the time. Says it all, really!' he says on his website. A must for prog, keyboard and Wakeman fans alike.

Rick Wakeman - Amazing Grace

Artist: Rick Wakeman
P: 2007
Amazing Grace The DVD presents stunning visual interpretations shaped from a timeless collection of beautiful, inspiring, instrumental arrangements of traditional hymns, with variations on some of the most popular melodies and themes ever produced. Amazing Grace has been arranged and performed by music legend and TV/Radio personality Rick Wakeman, to reveal a stunning and emotive selection of internationally celebrated Christian hymns. The DVD features Rick Wakeman recording live in the studio on acoustic piano, crafted with motion pictures, high-end graphics and emotive imagery to bring to life a collection of material that many will be familiar with, whether from a religious background or not. 'All Things Bright and Beautiful', Amazing Grace , 'Jerusalem', Morning Has Broken and 'Abide With Me' are just some of the hymns featured, which have served both historic and important roles in worldwide Christian communities, and in fact all walks of life. Released as a 2 Disc DVD CD Collection to coincide with 2007 s Easter festivities, Amazing Grace also highlights the cherished title tune, originally penned by John Newton in the 1770 s. The hymn is subject to somewhat of a commemoration this year to mark the 200th Anniversary of the Abolition of Slavery and its roots are firmly linked to the events that led to an abolishment of the slave trade within the British Empire in 1807. Amazing Grace', like many of the pieces featured on the album have proved to reveal an unprecedented impact on our society and it continues...

Rick Wakeman - The Legend Live in Concet 2000 (CD+DVD)

Artist: Rick Wakeman
P: 2000
Although Rick Wakeman has recorded an enormous number of solo projects, this DVD-plus-CD set The Legend (Live in Concert 2000) must surely be the best in terms of sheer value, quite apart from the fact that the performance is very good. Even long after the glory days of Yes and his grandiose solo albums of the 1970s, Wakeman, the inventor of rock keyboards (before him there were pianists and organists, while after him there were programmers), remains a consummate performer. Taken from one of his one-man shows, in which he mixes musical items from his entire career with some expertly delivered anecdotes, there's something to please every fan. The dozen tracks on the DVD include extracts from his solo albums, some Yes music, the brilliant (and hilarious) "Nursery Rhyme Concerto," and much more, while his story about the theater organ in Seattle is alone worth the price of the set. The extra audio CD features all the music on the show, while the DVD itself has six extra audio-only tracks, plus a very funny biography and a photo gallery.
This breathtaking concert and album, recorded during Wakeman's UK 2000 tour, recaptures the magic and memories from this musical genius' life, including collaborations with Cat Stevens, the English Rock Ensemble and the legendary rock group Yes.

"The greatest rock keyboarder of all time... this disc is the perfect document of his live show... camera work is excellent, the picture quality is superb and the 5.1 soundtrack is wonderfully clear and resonant."
