‘ In May 1999 I visited  one of my favorite Greek islands, called Crete. The atmosphere of this island gave me a lot of inspiration for making my new album. Especially ‘ Spinalonga’ , in front of the isle of Crete, which in the old days was a leprosy colony. And sitting on the beach, staring at the sea, my mind wandered of other imposing places I visited before, like India and Africa. These impressions I used as a leading motive for the music on Private Sun. I hope my inspiration tickles the imagination of my listeners and may my private sun be their sun too.’

With his gentle and melodic New Instrumental Music Dutch keyboardist and composer Paul Heinerman is regulary heard on numerous radio stations throughout the European continent. About “The Ancient World”, his first album for Prudence, Heinerman says: “With this album I aim to give an impression of a journey to the past, dreaming and imagining the atmosphere of ancient mediterranean places.” Paul, who is inspired a.o. by Elton John’s instrumental songs, had worked as a keyboardist in various bands, before he decided to dedicate himself to the composing and producing of the fantastic music he heard in his mind. He creates his music using the countless options of modern synthesizers and midi-technology, but loves to put the natural sound of an excellent grand piano in the center of his beautiful arrangements. Each and every piece is based on a genuine theme, expressing a strong filmic character, where every listener can feel the tangible atmosphere and thus follows Paul’s heartfelt invitation: “Join me on this journey - I hope you will enjoy this musical trip as much as I do.”
