Sensational Code Indigo performance from the 1998 Derby Cathedral concert, showcasing a band on the very top of their form. Great interplay between synths and guitar, oodles of atmosphere and feeling, this really is a classic! Includes reworking of classic tracks plus materiel unavailable anywhere else. Most importantly though, the Code Indigo style is very difficult to categorize. Instrumental Pink Floyd? Enigma?? Steve Roach??? In the Nursery???? They combine elements of all of these and yet, basically, they sound like, well.... Code Indigo. And that  is the mark of something a bit special.

,Oracle’ is a magical musical journey blending elements of new age and electronic space music with a touch of ambient and the avant-garde. A follow-up to their 2017 release, ‘Prophecy’, ‘Oracle’ is a far more varied and yet more focussed work. Strong synth and sequence passages by David Wright along with his adept arrangements are complemented by the evocative and sublime vocal textures of Carys . The combination of synths, sounds and voice perfectly complement each other here. The additional choir and string orchestration by David add an almost cinematic feel to proceedings.

12 varied tracks blend effortlessly together, forming a complete 78 minute opus split into two movements. The first half is ‘The Temple Suite’ and part 2 ‘The Orion Suite’. This result is an epic synth and choral symphony and presents music for the heart, mind and soul on a grandiose scale.

Atmospheric vistas laced with mysterious beauty present haunting passages that are intertwined with hypnotic and evolving sequences providing gentle rhythmic motion that is all held together by memorable musical themes.

Prophecy finds David Wright joined by vocalist Carys and extending his musical palette to a degree that may surprise even his most devoted fans. As is clear from the titles, ‘Prophecy’ has both an oceanic and a space theme, yet neither dominate the album. The structure is typical ‘David Wright’, but the music has a somewhat different feel, with the beautiful vocal textures of Carys adding another dimension; and with themes blending effortlessly together to the extent that they form a complete piece, one is unlikely to play only a single track from this album. ‘Prophecy’ incorporates elements of electronic, space, ambient and rock music that will reach deep into your psyche to induce visions of “A journey from the ocean to the stars”. Beginning with gentle ambience, the album builds slowly and evocatively to rhythmic and sequenced sections that ebb and flow through cosmic passages to the album’s dynamic finale. David is expert at orchestrating simple ideas, and the evolving ambience and recurring synth themes contained here hold your interest from the start. The varied vocal input by Carys adds an almost spiritual dimension to the music: her plaintive whale cries, as part of the dense textured layers and as ‘lead’, are stunning, while the short, central spoken section is deeply moving. ‘Prophecy’ took over a year to record utilising a vast array of synths, deep ocean sounds and authentic space sounds courtesy of NASA.

On 1st July 2017 David Wright and Carys headlined the Schwingungen Garden Party Event in Hamm, Germany as part of a European mini tour showcasing their acclaimed album ‘Prophecy’. This 104 minute DVD perfectly captures their stunning performance. 

Additional video graphics have been added to further enhance the excellent concert footage, resulting in a unique audio visual experience as the two performers on top form captivate an enthusiastic audience. As well as live versions of music from the Prophecy album and other collaborative works with Carys, David Wright also performs songs from his solo and Code Indigo catalogue. This is a stunning DVD and a must have for fans of David Wright & Carys.

These two experienced musicians combine to produce an album of original music very much inspired by Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Vangelis. ‘The Reflecting Sky’ presents 75 minutes of diverse and original electronic music that weaves a powerful, sequencer laden spell packed with sonic delights that will have fans of traditional Berlin school em as well as fans of the two musicians in raptures. ‘The Reflecting Sky’ came from a series of improvised sessions at David Wright’s Suffolk studio between 2017 and 2019 during ‘down time’ from Code Indigo concert rehearsals. During that time the duo laid the foundations for four distinctly different tracks. However, it wasn’t until early 2020 and the time afforded by the Covid-19 lockdown, that they went back to the music. After 4 months of painstaking editing and arranging, the result, we think you will agree, is a fascinating blend of musical styles, a metamorphosis into something unique. The 11 tracks are in fact 4 long pieces, each displaying a creative and imaginative blend of sequences, rhythms and atmospherics that create a soundscape to take the listener on a mind-blowing cosmic journey. While the duo clearly pay a passing nod to the more established luminaries of the genre, ‘The Reflecting Sky’ is an original and sophisticated slice of electronic music, clearly reflecting the musical vision and expertise of both artists at the peak of their creative prowess and clearly enjoying the collaboration.

‘Beyond the Airwaves Volume 1’ is the 25th solo album from UK synth veteran David Wright and also marks 25 years since his first release. The 12 interlinked tracks are actually 4 long pieces that ebb and flow with commanding themes and a sweeping grandeur. The music covers a variety of electronic music styles with strong rhythms and sequences underpinning a multitude of layers and lush passages that are rich with drama. There are 48 minutes of new music plus an epic 30 minute reimagining of his classic ‘Walking with Ghosts’ suite. The music is taken from live concerts in the USA and Europe in 2012 and 2013, all reworked and added to afterwards in the studio. The idea being to combine the spontaneity of the concert recordings with the more disciplined and creative studio approach to present a blend of both and hopefully, something a little different.
‘Beyond the Airwaves Volume 1’ is a pulsating voyage into cosmic electronic music and a worthy addition to David Wright’s extensive catalogue.
